Would you consider writing a House/Foreman kissing ficlet for the incomparable queenzulu?

If not, I'd love a "5 Times Remy Hadley Proved Everybody Wrong."

<3 The pink eye story made me laugh.

Re: women in fandom, I accidentally ruined my day when I realized all of my non-text-only icons except one had only men in it (excluding animals). So I went on a search for women-only Lost icons and got really, really frustrated with how few there were, especially compared to the vast number of male-only icons. Part of that has to do with the show's misogyny, but it also reflects negatively on fandom. I also have many fandom friends who write m/m and m/f but not f/f, which makes so sense to me at all. If you like a pairing, why should it matter what gender they are?

I changed it so you can have both! I will certainly try my best for queenzulu; I just need a prompt like the "examples I gave."

The story's funny now, but my nine (I somehow forgot how old I was in third grade)-year-old-self was horrified.

Oh, yeah, I imagine women on Lost don't bode well. They're stuck on an island, and everyone knows women can't do physical labor at all! I think most shows are misogynistic, though at different levels, and possibly not all intentionally. But I like everything, so I write everything. :)

Prompt: "‘cause nobody cares what you've been through
and nobody cares how much you do
and nobody cares what kind of drugs your on
I can't take anymore fun"
-from "Nobody Cares" by The 88

Actually, in terms of Island survival, out of the four essential people, the doctor, hunter, and tech guy were male, but the tracker was female. The main problem is hard to explain to someone who doesn't watch, but Lost is a show with mythology and women have two places in the mythology: You're a mother or you're dead (and, towards the end, sometimes both). Also, it seems like the whole mythology of the show is based on the theory that magical glowing vagina!cave = STAY AWAY FROM THE VAGINA. Which was so stupid, on so many levels, that I'm choosing to ignore it.

So basically all the women on the show have been sidelined, killed, made weak, and been otherwise shoved aside for the sake of male characters.

Yeah, aside from the time-travel thing and the confusing plot, that's why I don't watch.

♥ It definitely sounds really cool! I can't see myself making a career out of it, but as a possible teacher, I think it'd be really helpful.

1. When you get sad/angry/stressed, what's your comfort food?

2. Favorite childhood memory. Go!

3. What's one thing that you're really good at?

4. If you could have any job in the world, what would it be?

5. What do you wish you could tell yourself when you were younger?

but literature and media could certainly be more positive. Even books that portray real female friendships.

YES YES YES YES YES YES.

For your fic prompts:

Anna/Jo (or, if it's easier for you, Jo/any female), (432, 2940) :)

I'm warning you now--it may not be Anna/Jo, because that's one of those pairings I ship but can't write. I'll let the song decide for me.

It's hard to find TV shows that depict real, positive female friendships and any kind of relationships.
AGREED 100%. My friend and I were talking about this exact same thing and we tried to compile a list of friendships between girls that were actual friendships with girls that talked about other things than boys. The list was very small. But I don't know if you watch, but The Vampire Diaries turned out to be one of them.

For your fic prompts:

Jo/Jess; 2277 or 4499. Or, if it's easier, Jess/Anyone.

I don't. I really just don't like vampires. :) Friends seemed to be pretty good but that's long gone now.

So I have this finished, but it fits in the same 'verse as my Big Bang, but my OCD is preventing me from posting it before my Big Bang because I want my Big Bang to be the first posted fic in the 'verse.

I know. Sorry. It'll be up mid/late-August.

It's hard to find TV shows that depict real, positive female friendships and any kind of relationships. It's hard to find good femslash, even though women make up the majority of fandom, and a greater percentage of the population

THIS THIS THIS.

Sometimes I feel like my perspective may be skewed, because pretty much the only show I've been watching regularly this year is SPN, but every time I lift my head up far enough to peer around at other shows, it just seems the same way.

*sigh* I should write more femmeslash. But it's so much harder when you have so much less to work with.

Maybe your perception is skewed a bit? But I watch other shows, and get the same sense.

You should! And while it may be harder because there's less to work with, you also have lots more room to embellish and create details.
