It's hard to find TV shows that depict real, positive female friendships and any kind of relationships.
I could no agree more, I'm not sure if I'm just not watching the right shows or what, but positive female relationships are definitely lacking on pretty much every show I watch.

And fic prompts...
Ooo can I get Jo/Ruby; 145 or 2083?

I don't think you're watching the 'wrong' shows. I think they're very hard to find in general.

Done! Will post it tomorrow? Do you have a preference of S3 or S4 Ruby?

Yeah, I think you're right there. Sad but true. This is one of the reasons I'm considering watching The Vampire Diaries, I hear it's pretty good with female friendships but I'm not particularly interested in it.

Eee yay! S4 Ruby has a special place in my heart, but I'm not really worried either way, they are both awesome. :D

I definitely get that. I don't like vampires unless they sparkle.

Awesome! That's how I wrote it. I lied, though; it'll be up tomorrow. Promise.

Interview me, secretly-perhaps-maybe-Jess? If that was you, thank you! <3

Mmmm, prompt. Jess/s4Ruby (3841, 1677)

where the show just clicks.
I swear, that moment is some kind of magic.

I was always a little bit sad that I never had the chance to do more Gender Studies - highly recommend that you take at least one or two as an elective!

I wish we had a better idea of how many queer women there are in fandom (not that I'm suggesting anyone be outed, by any means!), but I wonder sometimes if those numbers don't have a relationship with how much femmeslash is put out there. I know of lesbian-identified women who prefer to read slash or het, but possibly less straight women who read femmeslash. It's all just general impressions though, so it's really hard to judge accurately!

I've never been a fan of that ship, but I will do my best!

The whole theatre is just electric! I live for it.

I definitely want to. It seems so interesting. And I agree with you on both counts about lesbians in fandom, and who writes what.

If the pairing doesn't jive, don't sweat it. I was mostly thinking "What would be interesting?", which is how I choose a lot of my reading material and writing subjects XD

As soon as I'm done with my post-secondary work and settled into a career, I intend to get myself involved in community theatre. Maybe something musical so that I can combine it my love of singing! I miss performing. I would even settle for a good LARP at this point.

Oops, I forgot questions!

1. Since you like theatre, what is your dream role?

2. Did you have any pets growing up?

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?

4. What's your favorite board game?

5. Who influenced you most?

- From what I know, fandom as a whole is made up primarily of women. From what I know (fandom depending) m/m fics are the most written and/or most popular. I sometimes feel like fandom(s) are misogynistic, which is unfortunate, given the high percentage of female writers.

RIGHT? THIS IS MY THESIS.

I'm now thinking it's going to be totally theory-based with no ethnographic research, just because of the problem of validating people's online identities with their real-life demographics (gender, sexuality, age, etc). But I might want to talk with you to get me going and give me some thoughts. :)

Yeah, that makes sense. I will definitely talk to you about it, though. :)
