hmmm interesting, the block of land across the road is for sale again. It was brought about 18 months ago (I think - it might have been 2 years) and they put a DA in to build a duplex but it is now up for sale, and about $50 000 more than they paid. given it had previously been on the market for the whole time I had been living there I wish them ( Read more... )

Maybe the owners think the value of their mowing has increased the value of the block and have increased the sale price accordingly.

*shrug* who knows, I do know that in the time I was first in the house and it was previously for sale they ended up reducing the price down to $130K just to get rid of it. It is a rather steep block and it will cost a fair bit in site costs to get an even remotely flat bit to build on, which I think may be why they are selling it, they have the quote to build and it was more than they thought.

The did pay someone to get the lantana pulled out, so maybe they do think they have increased the value.
