As a Zutara fan, I know that fans can get so damn annoying. We look so much into an episode in search for hints that might let us know that it'll happen in the future. And we fight to the very end to prove that Zutara can still happen

It's not just Zutara shippers. It's Maiko and Soko shippers as well. All three of our ships are grabbing onto this tale, saying that Zuko pulled away because he was thinking of Katara/Mai/Song, which is bullshit. His reason for pulling away was probably because he doesn't want to get attatched to a girl in Ba Sing Se, or he's just not used to such an intimate interaction.

Some facial expressions of Jin did remind me of Katara, but other than that, I saw no reference to Zutara whatsoever. If you want to count the lit up lanterns on water as a hint, go ahead.

Really, there aren't any hints or foreshadowing for any of the three ships. It was just a story that gave birth to a new ship: Jinko.
Which I secretly admire from afar.

Like I said, I don't think this episode had anything related to Zutara, I don't know why a lot of fans say it is. O_o I guess it's just them being hopeful.

In some cases, Zutarians are like little rats scavenging for cheese. Even if it's a little bit spoiled, we'll take it anyway. We try to scavenge for any evidence we can find; I've done it countless times meself.

I'm not sure I should feel sorry or feel happy for Jinko. One hand, all the ships that support Zuko with another woman are pissed off and annoyed. On the other, a lot of shippers like Jinko, and ship on the side, even if they don't want to admit it.

I really think Zutara has a chance on becoming canon. Not to our dirty level, though (lol). It's just that some fans just took this episode as a hint towards Zutara, which it wasn't.

Yes, that's what make Zutara so fun to ship! We find a teeny tiny hint and we discuss it and HOPE TO HIGH HEAVEN that, yes, it's Zutara and that it's one more clue telling us that it'll happen.

I think it's sorta like "I want Zuko to be happy, but with _____", which is how I feel. A lot of the fans that ship Zuko with Mai/Katara/Song/etc. are furious and ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to believe that Jinko will push through the surface, but yet they somehow admit it's cute. It's almost like they want to give-in but they don't. :/

Haha, I think that too. But I don't wanna get my hopes up only to be disappointed in the end; which is why I don't lie to myself by saying that Jinko = Zutara.

I, too, saw no Zutara in Zuko's tale, unless you feel like grasping at straws and count the whole fire fountain thing; but the super-shippers have to fine some Zutara in every episode, so I suppose we'll just have to deal with it. Personally, the lanterns on the water don't count since he lit those up for Jin. The Jinko crosses out the Zutara-- we get ZERO HINTS for this ep. D:

Yeah, that's pretty much the only reasonable "zutara" hint I've heard. But even then that's kinda iffy. I don't think it prepared him for anything. We saw was that he wants some lovin', but that he's not prepared for it; thus the "it's complicated" statement. He needs to realize that not everyone is out to hurt him.

When I first saw "Zuko's Tale", I was absolutely fuming. I ranted at EVERYONE and EVERYTHING and wanted to kill the wench. After calming down however, I thought of a explanation and theory to reassure myself and assuage the enraged Zutarian within. XD

The entire "Tales of Ba Sing Se" is, in my mind, solely for character development. None of what we saw really has anything to do with the current plotline, except for maybe Momo's, and even that's doubtful because I don't think it'll him that finds Appa (it'll be Zuko Aang). We caught a glimpse of Toph's softer, more vulnerable side, we witnessed Iroh's sorrow and the subsequent life philosophy caused by it, we watched Sokka exhibit a bit of intellectual and creative ability, and we saw Momo display human emotions and characteristics such as loyalty and compassion. With the skilled writers that Avatar has, why in the world would Zuko's story be the only one that has any heavy impact on future plot developments? His story is just like the others: for character development only. We see

I think all Zutara fans ran around in circles cursing Jin's very existance. I know I did, then I re-watched the episode and decided she isn't so bad. XP

Although I seriously doubt that Jin will become a main character, I don't think this is the last we'll see of her. I do think that something is going to happen to her that will cause some sort of huge event to go off. Either she is involved with the Dai Li, or something *serious* will happen to her. We are, after all, just a few episodes off from the Season Finale.

Jin seems to be a plot-development character, just like Jet. I think she's going to be an impact to not only Zuko but the entire Gang.

And... that's it! :D

After Jin dies or whatever, Katara will console Zuko and have many of his babies. Yay!

What made it seem Zutara-like is that a lot of [zutara] fanfics have Zuko acting exactly as he did in the episode. We were all happy we had his characterization down right.
