I am working on a sort of spy-spoof story. I won't give details, as it is fairly long and intricate. But i need help on what mines or plants processing minerals (one of the clues in the story is a new silicon-like mineral called "cauxite", and its kind of central to the plot, even if i'm not sure how yet XD). I went ahead and approved this even though it doesn't have a subject line, but it really does need one, like hawkeyecat said. Pleased edit your post to add a subject that describes your question.

Not really, no, not in the case of the internet. At best it could mung some communication, and that's about it.

You may want to look into glasswort as an intresting plant with a strange glass like skeleton in the mature portions of the plant ( ... )

For sound/smell i'd imagine a sort of mettalic tang permiated by engine grease from all the heavy machinery
