Muslim military funerals; non-Muslims attending Muslim funerals

I have a Delta Force operative, K, who was KIA in either Iraq or Afghanistan in the early 2010s. Enlisted, career Army, and practising but not super devout Muslim. Just don't let them be dicks about following the Mosque rules, take your shoes off, sit in the appropriate section, etc.

Well, I can only speak from personal experience, but as with any religion, practices vary depending on sect and culture. A Muslim from Africa who is Sunni will have a different practice than one who is from a Shiite sect in Pakistan, and so on ( ... )

In response to the military aspect of this: military funeral honors should be provided if the family requests it, even if the funeral is done privately. Google "military funeral honors": essentially, an honor guard of at least two uniformed servicemen will fold and present a flag to the family, and play "Taps" if that's appropriate.
