Ideal hiding places, no holds barred

Okay, say you're a kid (about, oh, twelve years old and roughly five feet tall). Where would be some really weird places for you to hide well in and be able to scare someone by randomly appearing out of? This can be anywhere, such as a store or in a house or in a car or in the streets or anywhere. I've been looking all over Google, but no dice for

I'm five feet tall and I can fit in just about any really tight corner. I'm also pretty flexible, though.

I'd put myself among the coats and jackets on a coat tree. My favorite was folding myself up on the table by the front door and cover myself in my jacket to scare my mom. She'd drop her purse on me and I'd scare her while she hung up her coat.

in a department-type store full of shoppers, it might serve to kind of crouch in among the clothes on a rack of dresses or suits or whatever long clothes. i have dim memories of doing this as a kid but i have no idea why i would have! in a world where most people are dead, though, that would probably be a boring place to hide if you wanted to scare people.
