So long as he didn't bite hard enough to nick the bone, I suppose their could be enough soft tissue damage to eradicate a bite wound. As for if it would burn hot enough... cremations occur in the range of 1400 to 2100 °F, but that's hot enough to burn the bone. Humans are remarkably good candles, really flammable when you get right down to it, so it's possible to ignite.

Might be more concern with how he ignites the house. After all, folks are getting good at finding suspicious cause of flame. If the vic is a smoker though, he could have been "smoking in bed". Bed goes up, guy goes up, house is engaged and however long later fire is put out and remains are found.

I totally believe it would be possible. As the previous commenter said, bodies tend to actually burn pretty well, and should be more than enough to destroy ordinary bite marks.

Besides the issue of making obvious it's arson, though (which isn't a problem if it's Death By Vampire that needs hidden, not simple murder), he does need to make sure the body itself will actually burn. Bed goes up is a good way. If he's lying on a ceramic tile floor, though, it might not actually catch fire enough. (Just a thought - I know very little about the mechnics of how houses burn.)
