Title: A Learning Process
Pairing: Yunho/Jaejoong
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Romance, Humor
Summary: Jung Yunho was supposed to be the mysterious, indifferent, student council president. While he’d never stolen any minute of Kim Jaejoong’s attention before, he certainly was now.

Jaejoong bit his lip nervously as he leaned against the kitchen counter and tried to appear calm when in fact, he was just a bunch of frazzled nerves on the inside. He clutched his cup a little tighter, wondering about just where Yunho was.

An arm snaked its way across his waist and he sighed.

“Get your arm the fuck off, or I’ll break it.” Jaejoong muttered before he took another sip of his drink. He glanced at the person next to him and rolled his eyes. “Oh, it’s you.”

Hyunjoong grinned, “Don’t be so tense Joongie.” He pulled his arm away and took the cup out of Jaejoong’s hand. He took a sip and handed it back to Jaejoong who pulled it back roughly. “Is something wrong?”

“I don’t want to be seen with you.” Jaejoong replied casually as he inched away from the other, “You always make people talk about me. I’m trying to be impressive and normal, so please -“

“Don’t be boring.” Hyunjoong argued as he crossed his arms and pouted. “You and I have had a lot of fun together -“

Jaejoong glared, and Hyunjoong laughed. He kissed Jaejoong on the cheek before he wandered off to look for someone to hook up with.

As fun as it was to hang out with Hyunjoong, Jaejoong was sure that hanging out with him would only lead to more rumors which would eventually reach Yunho’s ears. To be honest, he hadn’t been too surprised that Yunho had thought he treated everyone in a flirtatious manner.

It was kind of true, after all, seeing as he wasn’t exactly a very behaved drunk. He could vaguely remember kissing several different people during one party and he didn’t have the cleanest track record when it came to relationships.

He didn’t date anyone, but it didn’t mean that he was lacking in any sort of knowledge on what couples did, so it was only natural that things about him spread. Some true, some falsified - but he didn’t doubt that some of it had reached Yunho’s ears.

Jaejoong bit his lip and looked around the room before he wandered out.

He was itching for a cigarette, anything that would calm down his nerves. Jaejoong shoved his hands into his pockets and ignored the attempts at conversation made by several of his drunk classmates as he went around Yoochun’s house.

His insides were twisting as he completed his second round of Yoochun’s house. He was nervous, and he was beginning to feel the gnawing edges of disappointment in his gut.

It was beginning to seem like Yunho hadn’t bothered to show up.
o-o-o
“I can’t do this.”

Yoochun blinked twice, “Do what?” he asked. He left the group of girls he was with and led Jaejoong aside, taking him upstairs and to the balcony in his room.

Jaejoong paced for a bit and ran his hands through his hair, “I don’t think Yunho’s coming.” He said nervously, “Maybe he thinks I’m not his type, or maybe he’s in some kind of car accident, or -“

“Or he’s right there by the pool.” Yoochun replied as he looked away from his pool and glanced at Jaejoong. He raised an eyebrow and tilted his head, “Yunho’s been here since awhile ago.”

“What?”

Jaejoong immediately crossed to the other side of the balcony and stood next to Yoochun. He held onto the railing and looked down at the pool area. His eyes widened after he’d caught sight of Yunho.

“He’s here.” he breathed out as he pressed himself closer to the balcony. His heart started to beat even quicker, and he gripped the railing a little tighter. Jaejoong turned away and tried to calm himself down, but he couldn’t.

He was too jittery.

Yoochun clasped his hands on Jaejoong’s shoulders. “You should calm down a bit.” He suggested as he squeezed his friend’s tense shoulders. “You look nervous as hell, and I can’t imagine what you’re feeling, but I have a feeling that you shouldn’t worry.”

Jaejoong nodded, “Okay.”

“I have another thing to say too.” Yoochun continued, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “I think Hyunjoong’s trying to make a move on Yunho.”

“What?”

Jaejoong sharply turned around and caught sight of Hyunjoong with Yunho - his Yunho. He pushed Yoochun aside and quickly made his way out of the room. He needed to get to Yunho as soon as possible.

To be honest, it wasn’t jealousy that was getting him to move so quickly - it was fear. Hyunjoong knew majority of the shady things Jaejoong had done, and if he was drunk enough, the other student rambled on and on which always resulted in rumors and fights.

Jaejoong didn’t want Yunho to change his mind if he heard about any of the things he’d done before.

He pushed aside a few guys and made his way to the pool area. He approached Hyunjoong, and Yunho’s eyes flickered with recognition, but Jaejoong noticed that Yunho seemed a little surprised to see him all of a sudden.

“What were you two talking about?” Jaejoong asked, a little breathless due to his quick travel from the second floor. He smiled nervously and hoped Hyunjoong hadn’t said anything too stupid.

Hyunjoong slung his arm over Jaejoong’s shoulder and leaned against him before he began to slur several things against the skin of his neck.

Jaejoong paled. Hyunjoong was drunk. His eyes met Yunho’s nervously, and he noticed the slight tension on the student council president’s face. “Hi Yunho.” He breathed out nervously, hoping Yunho hadn’t heard anything too incriminating.

Yunho reached forward and pulled Hyunjoong off Jaejoong. “I should get him off you.” He muttered before he gently pushed Hyunjoong aside in a different direction and studied Jaejoong carefully. “I think we should talk.”

“I know.”

Jaejoong pulled his wrist out of Yunho’s grasp and led him to a more secluded area, closer to the front of Yoochun’s house. They stood awkwardly by the front door, and Jaejoong bit his lip nervously.

He looked up at Yunho, “What were you going to say?”

Yunho stared at him for a few seconds before he turned aside. He crossed his arms before he glanced at Jaejoong again. “Are you serious about what you said the other day?” he asked.

“Yes.”

“If...” Yunho trailed off and sighed, “Hyunjoong said some things.”

“I had a feeling.” Jaejoong murmured as he ran a hand through his hair. “I know you might’ve heard some things about me before, and I’ll admit that some of them are probably true, but -“

“I need a drink.”

A smile tugged at the corners of Jaejoong’s lips at the comment, and he tilted his head in a curious manner. “Do you want me to get you one?” he asked. “I could do with one as well. This is kind of awkward.”

“No, nevermind. I think...” Yunho walked up to Jaejoong and sighed, “I think we should stay clear headed. How many drinks have you had though? I just got here.”

“I’ve had two or three.” Jaejoong replied, and when Yunho raised an eyebrow, he rolled his eyes. “I’m nervous okay. It’s not like I know what you’re thinking most of the time, so I had to deal with the stress somehow.”

“I’m sorry. I’m naturally difficult to deal with.”

Jaejoong laughed at Yunho’s words, “Trust me, I know, but I think you’re more charming that way.”

Yunho chuckled and stepped away. He sat down on the front step, and Jaejoong sat down next to him.

Jaejoong glanced at Yunho, “If you don’t mind me asking...”

“What?”

“You let this continue for so long...” Jaejoong murmured as leaned forward and rested his chin on his knees. “I want to know why. You even kissed me a few times and initiated things, I want to know what that means for me.”

Yunho let out a small sigh and forced a smile, “I’m not good at talking or expressing myself properly, in case you haven’t noticed.”

“I’ll listen to whatever you have to say.”

“Admittedly, I was curious.” Yunho began as he looked away and stared straight ahead, avoiding Jaejoong’s curious gaze. “I hadn’t meant to kiss you on the first day, but it just kind of happened. After that, it was a little harder for me to not want things to go on for a bit longer.”

“Okay.”

“This...it’s complicated, and I have to say that it’s mostly my fault for complicating things so much. I think I might’ve led you on in some way by -“

Jaejoong stood up sharply, “What are you saying?”

“What?” Yunho furrowed his brows, “I didn’t say anything yet. Calm down.” He stood up slowly and reached out, but Jaejoong took a step back, so he reached out again faster and caught hold of Jaejoong’s arm. “Calm down.”

“But, you were saying that you -“

Before Jaejoong could get another word out, Yunho had already forced his lips onto Jaejoong’s mouth. Jaejoong wanted to resist, wanted to hear more of what Yunho had to say, but he found himself willingly succumbing to Yunho’s actions.

He couldn’t bring himself to care that anyone could possibly stumble in and catch them, he was too busy thinking about how perfectly he fit against Yunho’s body. There was a completely different feeling to their kiss - it was more meaningful and more experienced.

Yunho’s tongue slipped into his mouth, and Jaejoong couldn’t help but angle his head in order to provide more access. He felt Yunho’s hands across his back, so he slowly slid his hands underneath the fabric of Yunho’s shirt, his palms slowly moving across the other’s skin.

It was intolerably slow - the way Yunho’s tongue gently wrapped around his and explored every inch of his mouth. Jaejoong pulled Yunho a bit closer, determined to have the taller student closer than he already was.

But despite his effort to pull Yunho closer, Yunho easily pulled away. He pressed their foreheads against each other, their noses brushing to due to their closeness.

“I think you know what this means.” Yunho murmured, his breath ghosting against Jaejoong’s skin and sending tingles down the latter’s spine. “Are you sure you’re not drunk? I want you to remember this in the morning.”

A shiver of excitement ran up Jaejoong’s spine. “I’ll remember.” He murmured, his breath tickling against Yunho’s skin. “I promise.”

“This isn’t some game, is it?” Yunho continued, “I shouldn’t be worried that you’ll just suddenly move on to someone else someday, right?” he looked at Jaejoong, and Jaejoong could see the nervousness in his eyes.

“Give me a little more credit. You can trust me. I’ll...” Jaejoong trailed off, “I’ll be here for you.”

“I haven’t said this to anyone, so I might not say it right.”

Jaejoong bit his lip in anticipation, and did his best to hide the huge smile that he wanted to show Yunho. He held onto Yunho’s arms a little tighter and waited for the other to speak.

“I like you too.”

“That’s exactly what I wanted to hear.” Jaejoong murmured before he closed the distance between his and Yunho’s lips.

He was lost in the daze of feeling Yunho against him. Jaejoong could hardly register the fact he’d taken a few steps back until he felt his back being pressed up against the wall of Yoochun’s house.

Jaejoong was quite positively sure he was lost in the kisses, and that he would never get sick of the feeling of Yunho kissing him, touching him, or just being with him. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was something else, but he couldn’t focus on anything else but Yunho.

They broke apart for a second, and Yunho turned his attention to Jaejoong’s neck. He left feathery kisses across the expanse of skin, resulting in Jaejoong clutching even tighter onto Yunho’s body. Jaejoong groaned and tightened his grip on Yunho as the latter began to nip at the pale expanse of skin.

“Are you sure you want to leave a mark?” Jaejoong murmured playfully as Yunho bit and sucked at his neck roughly, “People might ask me about it, and I won’t know what to say.”

“You always know what to say.” Yunho replied as he paused his actions to look at Jaejoong properly. He tucked a strand of hair behind the shorter boy’s ear, and he placed a soft kiss against Jaejoong’s lips. “You can say I did it.”

“No one would believe me.” Jaejoong placed his arms over Yunho’s shoulders and used his hands to tug slightly at the short strands of hair. “I like the mystery of a secret relationship. We can tell them all during graduation.”

“Are you sure?” Yunho asked, “If you want to -“

Jaejoong silenced Yunho with a kiss. “I like the secrecy.” He pulled away and smiled charmingly, “The whole cold student council president guise is very attractive too, so I wouldn’t want you to lose that.” He fiddled with the collar of Yunho’s shirt, “So we’re dating now?”

“No.”

Jaejoong glared, and Yunho chuckled. He took the pout off of Jaejoong’s face by gently tugging at his lower lip, his eyes focused on Jaejoong’s the whole time. Yunho pulled away and ruffled Jaejoong’s hair, “We are.”

“Okay, so that means you’re going to be spending more time with me from now on.” Jaejoong insisted as he took hold of Yunho’s hand and began to lead him back to where most of the people were gathered, “And you’ll have to tell potential threats that -“

“Potential threats? Do you mean -“

“You need to tell them that you like someone else, and that you are seeing that someone else.” Jaejoong turned around and smiled, “I also expect to be rewarded for my effort that currently led up to this state of our relationship.”

Yunho shook his head, thoroughly amused. “Fine. I might as well make the most of my first boyfriend so that I know how to treat the next one better -“

Jaejoong punched Yunho’s arm.

“Give me your phone.”

“Are you going to delete all my contacts aside from you?” Yunho asked as he took a step back from Jaejoong, a playful smile on his face. “I don’t think so. You can’t have it.”

Jaejoong pouted, but Yunho resisted.

“Fine.”

He took a few steps away from Yunho and checked his own phone. He paled when he noticed the time, “Shit. I should’ve been home thirty minutes ago. I’ll see you on Monday, okay -“

“I’ll walk you home.”

Jaejoong paused and blinked twice. “Are you sure?” he asked. “You live far from me, and it’s not exactly the best time to be walking home alone -“

Yunho sighed and covered his face with his hand. He shook his head, “I kept thinking about how I was so oblivious was to not notice how you feel, and now you’re completely oblivious of me trying to make this work out. I’m your...boyfriend. I should.”

Jaejoong laughed, “I’m sorry. I’ll have to get used to this too. At least we’re good at the physical part of a relationship, right? We’ll learn.” He walked away from Yunho and turned back again to face him, “Go enjoy the party for a few more minutes. I’ll say goodbye to Yoochun.”

“Sure.”

They stared at each other for a few more seconds before Jaejoong turned away happily, determined to look for his best friend so that he could tell him the good news.
o-o-o
Yoochun raked his eyes throughout Jaejoong’s body and whistled. “You look...” he paused and took a sip of his drink, “Ravished.”

Jaejoong smirked, “I know.” He turned to the side and looked at the hickeys Yunho left behind on his neck and smiled appreciatively. “I’m quite happy about that.”

“Good for you.” Yoochun replied as he put his drink down onto his dresser so that he could fix Jaejoong’s shirt, “But you might want to fix yourself up before people spread more rumors about you. You did disappear for quite awhile.”

“Oh, right.” Jaeojoong turned the collar of his shirt up to hide the bruises, “Well, most of those people are just jealous pricks anyway.” He fixed his hair idly and took the comb Yoochun offered him, “I’ll be leaving now by the way.”

Yoochun sat down his bed, “So soon?”

“Yeah, I was supposed to be back home an hour ago.” Jaejoong replied as he examined his face in the mirror, “It’s a good thing my parents aren’t home though, or else I’d probably be dead.”

Yoochun nodded, “Good point.” He tilted his head and met Jaejoong’s eyes through their reflections in the mirror. “Are you sure you don’t want to tell people that you and Yunho are dating though?”

Jaejoong turned around, “To be honest, not really.” He ran a hand through his hair, “I don’t need anyone to make any negative judgments about us, least of all him. I’d prefer to keep our relationship away from any of that.”

“I think you just want to keep it secret so that Changmin doesn’t find out.”

Jaejoong paused for a few seconds.

“That too.”
o-o-o
Jaejoong frowned.

When he told Yunho to enjoy the party, he hadn’t meant for his boyfriend to go around and talk to Go Ara. He sighed and tried to calm himself, but he could see all the signs of Ara trying to make a move - toying with her hair, laughing too loudly, fluttering those stupid eyelashes.

She didn’t even go to these kinds of parties - Jaejoong had never once seen her at any party with alcohol. He frowned at her and briefly entertained the suspicion that she was stalking Yunho.

Before Jaejoong could approach the two of them and take Yunho away from Ara so that she couldn’t try convincing Yunho that she was perfect for him, Hyunjoong latched himself onto Jaejoong and buried his face in his chest.

“Joongie, you smell so wonderful.” Hyunjoong murmured before he turned his face upwards and fluttered his eyelashes, “And you’re so pretty, as usual.”

Jaejoong rolled his eyes, unsurprised by his friend’s drunken behaviour. Hyunjoong was ten times worse of a flirt whenever he was intoxicated. “I need to find someone else to take care of you. I wonder how you manage sometimes.”

“Oh you can take care of me any way you want Joongie.”

Once again, Jaejoong was further convinced that Hyunjoong was much worse of a flirt than he could ever dream of being. He shook his head and was about to hand Hyunjoong over to the closest person before Hyunjoong got pulled away by someone else.

Yunho.

“Jaejoong, are we going yet?” Yunho asked as he looked down at Hyunjoong, who was looking at him with a dazed expression. Jaejoong chuckled, and Yunho glared at him irritably. “You said you were going to look for Yoochun.”

“I did. I just happened to run into Hyunjoong as I was looking for you.” Jaejoong smirked and tilted his head, “Why? Are you jealous of Hyunjoong? He’s one of my -“

Jaejoong’s mouth fell open as Hyunjoong suddenly moved and attempted to press his lips against Yunho’s. Yunho was equally as surprised as Jaejoong, but he recovered fast enough to push Hyunjoong off him.

Several people chanted out drunkenly for Yunho to start a fight, but he ignored them and walked off. Jaejoong noted irritably that Ara immediately followed after him like some lost puppy before he realized that he was supposed to be the one running after Yunho.

Jaejoong kicked Hyunjoong irritably, “You suck. If you weren’t drunk, I’d kick your ass for this.” He muttered before he walked over Hyunjoong’s intoxicated figure and made his way to follow Yunho.
o-o-o
Jaejoong met Yunho by the pool and glanced at Ara, who he now noticed looked much tipsier than he’d initially thought her to be.

“Hi.” Jaejoong greeted out of forced politeness before he turned his attention to Yunho and smiled nicely, “Are we going now?”

“Yeah.” Yunho turned to Ara, “Well, Jaejoong and I are going now, I’ll see you at school on Monday.”

“You too!” Ara replied, all smiles and uncoordinated hand movements as she waved at Yunho. “I’ll see you on Monday too Jaejoong! We have a very important event to plan! I can’t wait for us to start!”

Jaejoong stared at her, completely surprised by her overly sweet and intoxicated state, and blinked twice. “Okay.” He looked at Yunho and ignored the amused look on the other student’s face. He rolled his eyes, “Shut up Yunho, let’s go.” Yunho laughed and followed behind Jaejoong, “Okay.”
o-o-o
“Are you sure you’re not drunk?” Jaejoong asked as they neared his house, “I don’t want you to get mugged or -“

“I’ll be fine.” Yunho replied as he shook his head at Jaejoong’s concern. “Nothing bad is going to happen to me.”

“That’s what people say in movies before they get brutally murdered by psychotic bitches with axes.” Jaejoong snapped, “You should just go home now. You really don’t have to walk -“

“Are you sure you’re not drunk?” Yunho asked in reply, “I’m not the one talking about psychotic people with axes. I think I actually sound quite -“

“You’re kind of talkative right now. I say you’re slightly tipsy at least.”

“I won’t argue with that.”

Jaejoong turned around and began to walk up to Yunho, “I knew it. I, on the other hand, am completely sober and -“ before Jaejoong could get another word out, he tripped and fell down.

Yunho began laughing, “You’re completely sober? Sure.”

Jaejoong remained on the ground for a few seconds before he got up and pushed Yunho away irritably. “I’m much more sober than you at least. I don’t think you’ll be able to get home safely. I bet the moment I get inside my house, Ara’s going to -“

Yunho took Jaejoong into his arms and silenced him with a quick kiss. “Don’t be so jealous, it’s not attractive.”

“You’re not attractive.” Jaejoong muttered childishly before he pushed Yunho away and walked to the gate of his house. He looked at Yunho with concern, “Are you sure you’re going to be able to get home safely?”

Yunho nodded, “I’ll be fine.”

Jaejoong leaned against his gate as he pushed it open with his weight. He frowned doubtfully, “Text me as soon as you get home.”

“Okay.”

“A kiss goodnight?” Jaejoong suggested hopefully as he left his gate to walk over to where Yunho was standing. He stood in front of Yunho for a few seconds before he leaned forward to steal a quick kiss.

Jaejoong laughed and pulled away from Yunho, whose hands had immediately settled upon his hips. “Goodnight Yunho.”

“Goodnight Jaejoong.”

Jaejoong smiled before he turned away and went inside. He locked the gate and slipped inside his house and was glad to discover his sisters were all asleep. After he took a shower and prepared himself for bed, he lied down and waited.

Luckily, he didn’t have to wait for long. His phone rang, and he answered.

“I’m at home. Jihye caught me as I was making my way inside. She has also found out that we’re together now.”

Jaejoong smiled and rolled to his side, “And what do you think about that?”

“I don’t mind - I don’t think it’s anything new for her anyway. She’s suspected it for awhile. You do realize that I’ll have to tell Changmin eventually, right?” Yunho replied on the other end of the line, “If you want things to go smoothly, you’ll have to make sure you try to get to know him better.”

Jaejoong groaned and rolled onto his back. He stared up at his ceiling, “And how am I supposed to do that?”

“Food. You’ll win his respect and adoration through that.” Yunho answered. “Also, make sure to impress him with your leadership capabilities on Monday. Show him that you’re worthy of your position on the committee.”

“Fine. Whatever, I’ll try.” Jaejoong muttered, “Anyway, I’m tired. Care to say anything sweet and romantic before I go to sleep?”

“No, not really.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes.”

“But -“

Yunho hung up.

Jaejoong laughed and went to sleep - some things didn’t change.

Author’s Note: I hope you guys all like this. XD I’m happy from writing it, and I was too eager to post it as soon as I finished even though I should've been sleeping...so yeah. Hahaha! XD I’m pretty much getting ready to return back to writing angst, and all the rain that’s been falling has helped get me into the mood for writing it not to mention I have an endless amount of angsty songs to help me write it. Also, I’m planning on fixing up my introductory post a bit, so if you want to get to know me better, you should look forward to that. :) I hope this chapter lives up to expectations, and that you all enjoy the making out romantic interaction. Hahaha. Changmin will finally return in the next chapter, and so will Ara - I’m planning on incorporating her a bit more for a few chapters - as for why I’ve decided to that, you guys will have to wait and find out! XD I also apologize to people who are fans of Hyunjoong due to all his drunkenness in this chapter. Haha. XD He’ll probably be mentioned once or twice every once in awhile, but he won’t become a recurring character unless I decide otherwise sometime in the future. Please do leave a comment because I enjoy reading them! If you want to read something fluffy as well before I go back to angst, please do check out my other and fluffier Yunjae story, The Effects of a One-sided Crush. Also, I’ll be posting a oneshot tomorrow for a certain person whose birthday I keep on mentioning in all my recent author’s notes. XD Once again, thank you for reading! ♥
