#02. Jaejoong bumps into glass, and Yunho spends on something better than a new pair of glasses.
sale.
Jaejoong sighed and prepared the poster for display. As much as he hated helping his sister out on the weekends, he liked the money that came along with his work. He straightened out the poster and held it up against the class, trying his best to get it into a good position.
He froze when he noticed that Yunho was looking at him from the other side of the glass.
A nervous smile stretched across his lips, and he waved. Unfortunately, he’d dropped the poster in the process. He bent down to get it and knocked his head against the large pane of glass.
Jaejoong groaned and touched his forehead, fairly sure that it was red from how sore it felt. He looked up, and Yunho was walking toward the store.
His heartbeat quickened and he wondered if Yunho had seen his moment of stupidity. Jaejoong bit his lip and sorely realized that the only way Yunho wouldn’t have seen him was if he was blind - and he wasn’t.
His ego deflated, and he waited for Yunho to come inside.
The door chime sounded as Yunho opened the door, and Jaejoong faced him with a shy smile and a bruised sense of confidence.
“Hi.” Yunho smiled at him, his hair messy and his glasses slipping down the bridge of his nose - tempting Jaejoong to reach forward and push it up for him. “I was just looking at your sign, and -“
“What about it?” Jaejoong asked as he glanced backward to look at it. He furrowed his brows and looked at Yunho. “The sale lasts until -“
“No, it’s just that...” Yunho brushed past Jaejoong and picked the poster off the floor. He held it in his hands and showed it to Jaejoong, “It has a five hundred on it instead of a fifty.”
Jaejoong looked down at the sign and blushed.
500% off!
“I’ll...” he stammered and glanced at Yunho, “I didn’t realize.”
Yunho smiled at him, “Well, it’s a good thing I told you before you put it up.” He handed the poster back to Jaejoong, “It was nice to see you Jaejoong. It’s not often that I see you out of school.”
“You too.” Jaejoong smiled back, “Thanks for...pointing out the mistake in printing. I owe you for that. I guess I was just a little distracted.”
Yunho’s phone beeped, and he checked it. He looked back up at Jaejoong, “I have to go. I’m supposed to be buying a new pair of glasses.” He smiled again, “I’ll see you at school, okay Jaejoong?”
Jaejoong nodded, “Yeah, definitely.”
Yunho walked out of the store, and Jaejoong sighed, completely disappointed with his behaviour. He tossed the poster aside and rested his head on the sales counter.
If only it was possible to buy love.
o-o-o
Yunho stared at the glasses frames that were on display, unsure of which one to get. The only reason he was there was because they were on sale, and his mother had demanded him to go get a new pair.
He frowned and leaned down, he wasn’t too sure of which one to get. After he’d tried on several of the glasses, he sighed and massaged his forehead. He was terrible at buying things for himself.
“Need help?”
Yunho looked back and was met by a smiling Jaejoong. He blinked twice, “Oh, yeah. I do. Kind of. I need, yeah help.” Yunho bit his lip and hoped he would stop talking so that Jaejoong wouldn’t think he was stupid.
“You’re looking for a new pair, right?” Jaejoong asked as he walked next to Yunho, the skin of their arms brushing against each other. He looked down at what was on display, and Yunho couldn’t bring himself to tear his eyes away from Jaejoong’s face.
He bit his lip and his eyes trailed across every single one of the other student’s facial features. Yunho was so enraptured that he couldn’t take his eyes away - Jaejoong was even more attractive up close.
“Yunho?”
Yunho blinked twice and blushed, “I’m sorry, what?” he asked as he glanced at the glasses that Jaejoong had taken out of the display case.
Jaejoong laughed, and Yunho took note of the way he covered his mouth with his hand as he did so. On impulse, he reached out and gently moved Jaejoong’s hand aside, his desire to see the other student’s smile too great to bear.
“What did you say?” Yunho asked slowly, as he noticed the blush that had crept across Jaejoong’s cheeks in an adorable manner.
“I think your current pair suits you quite well.” Jaejoong said finally as he looked up and met Yunho’s gaze. “I don’t think you should change it.”
“Oh.”
They stared at each other for a few seconds, and Jaejoong cleared his throat awkwardly. He took a step away, “Well, I think I should -“
Yunho took in a deep breath and forced himself to say what he wanted to.
“Do you want to have lunch with me?” Yunho blurted, fairly sure his face was getting redder by the millisecond. “I mean, since I’m not spending money on glasses, I figured I might as well -“
“Okay.”
Yunho smiled, and his heart finally calmed down for a bit. “Let’s go then?” he said as he gestured to the front door of the store. Jaejoong nodded, and they exited the store together.
They walked over to the food court, and despite Jaejoong’s protests, Yunho paid for everything. They sat down together and shared food throughout the meal.
In the middle of it all, while Jaejoong was busy telling a story about how one of his sisters had accidentally taken a dress without paying, Yunho smiled.
Any money spent on Jaejoong was definitely money well spent.
< > Author’s Note: Nice fluff for
omgtiffa’s birthday! XD I hope you all enjoyed this. I actually wrote it quite quickly - less than an hour. XD The next chapter of A Learning Process is almost done, as well as my birthday oneshot for the lovely
daigensha_akuma! Both will be light hearted, and hopefully amusing as well. I must warn you all, after I’m done with that, I shall most likely be turning back to writing angst for quite a bit. Hahaha. My main focus will be on finishing the sequel to Suppress. Comments are greatly loved and appreciated, so do leave one! It may take awhile for me to reply, but I will reply, so don’t worry! Thank you for reading! ♥
