Summary: His life turned around the moment he met Yunho.
This is the end. I present, the last chapter of For You. ♥
“Oh God, we’re running late,” Jaejoong said worriedly as he tugged Yunho by his arm. He winced as he felt his lower body twinge slightly with pain before he shoved at Yunho’s chest again, “Get up!”
Yunho’s arms wrapped around his naked body and tried to pull him back, “But Jaejoong, it’s only six -“
“It’s not six!” Jaejoong hissed as he disentangled himself from Yunho’s body and tossed his boyfriend’s abandoned pair of boxers at his face, “The moving up ceremony is at ten Yunho, and it’s already nine!”
“Oh fuck, really?”
“Yes, really,” Jaejoong snapped as he fixed up the documents he’d been working on before Yunho had seduced him into sex before going to bed, “It takes around thirty minutes to get to the twins’ school, and we haven’t even showered!”
“I’m getting up, I’m getting up.”
“Sohyun’s going to kill us if we’re late!”
“Just calm down, we won’t be.”
Jaejoong tripped over Yunho’s jeans and quickly scrambled back to his feet. He made his way to the bathroom, and Yunho’s arms wrapped around him again to haul him off the floor and lift him over the carpet.
“Yunho!”
“I’m carrying you to the shower,” Yunho said with a laugh as he kissed Jaejoong’s cheek and continued to carry him. “It’ll be faster if we shower together.”
o-o-o
They rushed to the ceremony, and Jaejoong was fairly sure that Yunho had broken several traffic laws during the trip. Both of them ran to the school’s auditorium in order to make it before the doors closed, and as they ran, Jaejoong’s phone vibrated wildly in his pocket.
Luckily, they managed to make it inside the auditorium, and Sohyun flagged them down the moment she caught sight of them.
“What is wrong with both of you?” she hissed after she had pinched Jaejoong hard, “I told you two to get here before nine thirty so that I wouldn’t need to save you seats. Do you know how many people asked me if they could -“
“We’re sorry,” Jaejoong said breathlessly as he glanced at Yunho irritably. He took the camera bag out of his boyfriend’s hands and showed it to his sister, “I brought our camera so that we could -“
“Yes Jaejoong, I am well aware that you’re making a lot of money with your new job, so you don’t have to flaunt that in my face,” Sohyun teased as she pushed away the camera bag, “You better take a good video of my girls when they get on stage.”
“Of course, they’re practically my girls too -“
“Don’t talk so much when you record them. Wonjun was complaining that you talked too much during their class play that he couldn’t hear his little angels singing -“
Jaejoong’s mouth fell open before he quickly recovered and snapped back, “He said that? It’s not my fault they looked and sounded so perfect! You should tell him to find a different job so that he can record his own videos and I can keep my -“
“He told me that he’ll be able to get a transfer -“
“Until then, he should deal with my videos -“
There was a soft shushing sound that came from their right, and both siblings jerked their heads to see where it came from. Yunho smiled apologetically and bowed his head before explaining, “The other parents were complaining, and I thought it would be best if I was the one to tell you guys to be quiet.”
“This is your fault,” Sohyun chided, “You’re making me look bad in front of the other parents. Why are you even here? You’re not even a parent -”
“Hey! You invited us to come! What is -“
Yunho shushed Jaejoong, “The other parents are looking here -“
“Do you think I care?” Jaejoong snapped before he turned red at the realization of what he’d just said. He bowed his head in apology to the people that were looking at him and buried his head into Yunho’s shoulder.
Yunho chuckled and patted his head, “You’re so feisty this morning.”
“I hate that word,” Jaejoong grumbled before he rested his chin on his boyfriend’s shoulder and looked up at him, “Do you have a meeting later?” he asked, “I was thinking we could treat Sohyun and the girls to lunch after this.”
“No, I took the day off,” Yunho said softly, his eyes directed to the stage. He could feel Jaejoong’s eyes on his face, and he turned to look at him, “My…my sister called me last night, and she asked me if I wanted to get to know Yongha better.”
“What did you say?” Jaejoong asked as he sat up straighter.
Yunho licked his lips, “I said yes, so she suggested that I pick him up from his day care later in the day and then…she’d meet us wherever so that she could pick him up.”
Jaejoong smiled at Yunho and brushed his fingers along the other man’s cheek before he slowly tucked back a strand of Yunho’s hair, “Do you want her to pick him up at our place? We could invite her and her husband for dinner.”
Yunho shook his head, “It’s…it’s still a bit soon for that I think,” he said, “I think it’s probably just better if she picks him up at the park. I’ll talk to her for a bit, but I don’t think I can handle dinner with her yet.”
“It’s okay, I understand,” Jaejoong murmured with a reassuring smile. He toyed idly with the strands of Yunho’s hair and smiled wider, “Like I keep saying -“
“Don’t rush into things.”
They stared at each other and smiled, but Jaejoong didn’t know if Yunho could see how happy he really was. He’d made so many mistakes in his life from rushing into things, from being careless, from not caring - and if he’d actually succeeded at throwing himself over the edge, he never would’ve been able to meet Yunho.
He wouldn’t have been able to help him, he wouldn’t have been able to be happy with him, and most importantly, he wouldn’t have been able to love him.
“You’re smiling goofily,” Yunho whispered although he himself was sharing an equally happy smile, “Yoochun called me yesterday by the way, and he complained that we haven’t hung out with him and other others in a while.”
“What did you say in reply?” Jaejoong asked.
Yunho laughed and pecked Jaejoong’s lips before he settled back into his seat and kept his eyes to the stage, “I told him that we could all get dinner or something when we’re all free, and he told me that you’d have to pay.”
“What?” Jaejoong breathed out softly as he reached forward to intertwine his fingers with Yunho’s, “Why do I have to pay?”
“Because you’re the one with the new job,” Yunho teased before he nudged Jaejoong and pointed at the stage, “Look, it’s almost time for the girls to be on.”
Jaejoong quickly pulled his hand away from Yunho’s, and he picked up his camera off his lap to film the girls. He watched as they took their turns walking around the stage, and he smiled proudly behind his camera as he filmed them.
He turned his eyes for a few seconds away from the camera, and he looked at Yunho. His eyes admired the content expression on Yunho’s face, and his heart fluttered in his chest as he watched the corners of Yunho’s lips curve up into a proud smile.
They’d brought so much into each other’s lives that he couldn’t even imagine what life would be without Yunho in it. There had been struggles and tears over the past few months, but there’d also been kisses and laughs, and all the joys they’d had together outweighed any difficulties.
He felt his heart clench in his chest, and when Yunho turned to look at him, the other man tilted his head, “Jaejoong, they’re not on stage anymore -“
“I love you.”
Yunho reached over and took the camera out of Jaejoong’s hands. He turned it off, placed it inside the bag and set it aside before he leaned forward to kiss Jaejoong chastely.
“I love you too.”
They stared at each other happily and after a few minutes, they left their seats to help Sohyun gather the girls. Yunho took as many pictures of them as he could, and eventually, they enlisted someone to take a picture of the five of them together so that Yunho could join in their little family.
As they all shuffled into place, Jaejoong looked up at Yunho, and Yunho looked down at him. They smiled at each other, and as Jaejoong rested his head against Yunho’s shoulder, the seconds counting down until the picture was taken, there was only one thought running in his mind.
Life had never been more perfect.
