First up, here is the newest chapter of "House of Pullip". :D
Chapter 340: Elation and Frustration
*At “The Sweet Shoppe”*
Kiki: So…things seem to be going well for you and Felix.
Taryn: *blush* Yes. He makes me so happy.
Kiki: I’m happy for you, too.
Taryn: How about you and Sebastian?
Kiki: Oh…things are fine.
Taryn: Just…fine?
Kiki: I love him…I know he loves me…but he’s a little slow about…really committing.
Taryn: How long have you been together?
Kiki: About a year.
Taryn: So…what’s the problem? When I see you together all I can think is that it’s so obvious he only has eyes for you.
Kiki: Well, he asked me to move over to the house.
Taryn: With him?
Kiki: Well…no…just to move over there to be closer to him.
Taryn: Oh.
Kiki: I can’t really leave the store because I get up so early to start baking…so I asked him to move in with me here instead.
Taryn: But…he doesn’t live here…
Kiki: I know. He said no.
Taryn: Oh…how awkward.
Kiki: Very.
Taryn: Well, not everyone feels comfortable with that kind of thing.
Kiki: I know. I’m trying to be patient. It’s not like I’m worried about him leaving me or anything like that…it’s just…really hard waiting for him to decide to take that next step.
Taryn: I’m sorry, Kiki. I wish there was something I could do to help.
Kiki: Can I ask you something?
Taryn: Sure.
Kiki: If Felix asked you to move in with him, would you?
Taryn: Well…yeah, I probably would. Especially if things keep going as well as they are.
Kiki: I see.
Taryn: Is that bad?
Kiki: No! No, that’s not what I meant. I was just wondering if I’m crazy or wanting to move too fast or something. But maybe Sebastian is just slow.
Taryn: Or different.
Taryn: Can I ask you something?
Kiki: Yes.
Taryn: If Sebastian asked you to marry him, would you?
Kiki: In a heartbeat.
Taryn: Does he know that?
Kiki: Yes…well, I mean I didn’t say that in so many words but he knows how I feel.
Taryn: I guess there’s nothing left to do but wait.
Kiki: I hate waiting.
Taryn: *laughs* I know that feeling.
Kiki: I can wait…I will. In the meantime, I’ll just keep enjoying him. He treats me like a queen so I have no real reason to complain anyway.
To be continued...
Again, this isn't a very exciting chapter but I am going somewhere with this. I am going to have some more fun chapters coming up during the next two weeks. Starting in early May the story will be moving in a...new direction. Don't know what I mean? Well, just keep reading and you'll find out. ;)
Next, I bought this new dress for my Lati yellow girls off a seller on Etsy. Bailey got to wear it first and I took her out for a few photos:
She is checking out the flowers in the grass. :D
Here is a better view of the new dress. It's really cute...but I have to admit...I'm a little disappointed with it. Here is the
listing I saw when I purchased the dress. The dress I got is not the same. I mean, yes, it's the same design and it uses the same material and I also understand that tons of sellers on Etsy don't use photos of the actual item you will receive when you buy it, but the bodice on the dress I got makes me unhappy. The bodice on mine is basically blank. It does not appear that the seller tried very hard to make sure that a picture on the fabric was centered on the front of the bodice at all, it's well made but seems carelessly thought out. The bodice on the dress pictured in the sale has a cute lady bug on it that looks as if care was taken to make sure it was purposely put there. Mine also has a button on the bodice and no button is pictured...sort of like this will make up for the fact that no cute design on the fabric was purposely positioned on the front.
I just don't know if I should mention it to the seller at all or effect what kind of feedback I leave (of course I would not leave negative feedback without talking to the seller first). Is it worth complaining about? Or am I just being overly nit-picky? I did pay $19 for the dress though...I sort-of expected better given the price. It is very well made otherwise, don't get me wrong.
EDIT: I did contact the seller just to ask about the bodice differences. She said she purposely made the one pictured in the listing so that the lady bug was on the front (and she didn't say in so many words but pretty much admitted that she didn't necessarily do that for her orders). So, she is making me a new one and sending it. That's nice, so it'll be okay in the end. end edit...
This is why I don't use prints very often when selling the things I sew, but when I do I purposely make sure something in the print is centered on the front of the bodice. Not only that, but the photos I use for my Etsy listings are the actual items my buyers will get so there isn't any kind of weirdness like this. It takes a lot more time to do this, yes, but I think it's worth it so the buyer knows just what they are getting. Only once did I reuse a photo...but after that I decided not to do that again. :P
Blah...I wish I wasn't disappointed...it is a cute dress. :\
Anyway, one more photo of Madeline:
This is the outfit like the ones I listed on Etsy a few days ago that I kept for myself. I just used the white fabric pleated ruffle on the shirt hem instead of the lace. I already sold the others I listed on Etsy and am planning to make more this week. :D
