And baby when it's love, if it's not rough it isn't fun.

Watched the Wolverine and the X-Men Episode "Aces and Eights" the other night.

While I now fully understand where the whole Polaris/Gambit bit is coming from, I think I'm far more intrigued by the Scarlet Witch/Gambit dynamic. Seeing as Gambit and Rogue, my bulletproof OTP, have yet to actually share screen time, I think it's a damn good runner up.

This definitely has promise. I know I would/will read it, if/when you write it. As you said, in fandom there's room for just about anything and everything under the sun, and I definitely have a weakness for the angst!romance. 'Sides, I don't really have room to talk since I've got a weird fascination with Magneto/Rogue (amongst many, many other more disturbing 'ships). So I'd suggest going for it. Just my two cents, though.

Your two cents are appreciated! I'm kind of excited about this piece, as it's probably one of the weirdest things I've attempted to write. We'll see how it goes -- keep your eyes peeled.

Dude, I see you all the time at andthexmen. Why are we not friends yet?

I definitely will. And it's not that weird, just a little off the beaten path. Wait, does that metaphor even work, here?

And you're totally right, about the friends bit. I see you all the time over there, as well. Gonna go fix that.

No worries -- I am all about awkward metaphors. :)

Fixed on my end too. Cheers!

Regarding point two, personally, that would take me out of the story. It's one of those things that takes me out of anything I'm reading. Hell, it takes me out of the cartoon when I have the rare occasion to watch it. No one I know has ever really not used a contraction. It's always contractions. But then, that might just be me.

I don't think it's just you, seeing as I feel like you've hit it on the head right there. My desire to nail the canon speech patterns is coming in to direct conflict with my OMG PEOPLE DO NOT TALK LIKE THAT DAMMIT conviction. Ah, well.

I figure what I'm going to do is run a poll in the andthexmen community, get a broader perspective than just my flist can offer -- not that I don't love your input, of course. That's why I came to you guys first. Also, chances are I'll end up writing the story twice: once with Remy using contractions, and once without. I'll let them percolate, see which feels better, and go from there.

(Good to see you alive and kicking, by the way. How you been keeping?)

Actually, as I write this, I'm in the wilds of Southern Virginia, Colonial Williamsburg, to be exact. Just got back from spending the day at Busch Gardens and being lovingly badgered by Boyfriend to go on the really huge and scary roller coasters all day. Now I'm relaxing next to our campsite, listening to some guy do something loud with a hammer. We're going to be here until Sunday, so I'd say I'm in pretty fair condition. Soon as my camera charges, I'm planning on taking a some pics of the campsite and making a post about vacation tiems.

Q1) I would absolutely read. So hard. And I think it definitely makes sense. I really just think Remy was pursuing Lorna for the advantage (R:"You know what is really romantic chere? How about you explain to me the inner workings of the infrastructure of Genosha?" L: "Okay!" W: ::facepalm::) but there was snarky tension between he and Wanda. It was very Elizabeth/Darcy.

Q2) See I'm going direct opposition of mwffj and say it would draw me in more, because I like canon accuracy. I also opted for zero contractions in his speech with Remy & John fic (which is up now on my journal ... /casual self-pimp), and when I write, I read my dialogue outloud to see if it sounds like canon characters. Yes with the accents. Yes poorly heh. The only struggle I have is that I write Dominic sans contractions as well, so now I am equating Remy = Greek. Thanks for coming out, brain, you do a real service.

I hope this didn't confuse things more heh.
