Oh dear.

That was rather fantastic.

See what I meant about it eating my brain? I swear, I finished, sat back, and blinked at my wordcount for a good minute or two.

Glad to hear you enjoyed it -- this AU universe's existence is justified for that alone, especially given your initial sorta-skepticism.

Thanks, and cheers!

Is it weird that I'm still sorta skeptical, but still rather loved it?

Inspiring in a way. I just banged out a rough draft this evening. Though I'm quite sure it doesn't measure up.

No, not weird. The whole idea is kind of cracked, but you can love a warped idea just as much as a good one.

Inspiring? That's awesome. And of course it won't measure up -- it's a draft. You'll clean it up and then it's gonna blow my crap out of the water.
(In related news, you should have seen the initial draft of this; it read like every Rogue/Remy fic every twelve year old on the Pit has ever written. I was close to vomiting.)
Your writing inspires me in terms of how sharp and how clear your characterization is. Whatever your working on will turn out great once you've worked it all out, I can pretty much guarantee that.

I eagerly await your response, m'dear.

*steeples fingers and does best mad scientist laugh*

Seriously. This thing nearly killed me, and I get to go another round with it in "Sibling Rivalry". I am equal parts stoked and terrified.

I will add my 100% stoked to this figure. Now, respectively, it's at 75% stoked and only 25% terrified; that's just math, m'dear.

:: shifty eyes :: Totally legit math...

Percy, firstly, there is something so clean and yet so evocative about your choice of language in your fics that just kills me a little inside in such a very good way. You are so tight and so thrifty with your words, and can have so much said in so few sentences. Everything you write has meaning and every sentance, every freaking word has this way of seeming perfectly chosen for the tone and the mood and the story and I love you immensily for it.

Secondly, I cannot go on enough about your characterization woman. Not only Andrew and Riley, AND OMG WOMAN, ANDREW AND RILEY but Scarlett and John and the Professor and everybody! (You win the internet just for having Fem!Prof say behoves in my opinion because YESPLZ) (Also how much did I love the side by side comparison of Andrew and Riley's ghosts/pasts ( ... )

You always take so much care in your work Percy, and it really shows. i'm sure you did a thousand more tiny wonderful things that I have missed individually, but please let me assure you that, as a whole, this entire piece just SHINES. <3

The Scarlett love is much deserved and her and John are kind of fantastically adorible together. I loved the little pre-date science talk especially. (/nerdalert) I want John as my cool older brother a little bit. They are just fantastic together. Which is also why I am sooooooOOoo looking forward to rectangle O'(T4) of doom and awesomeness. You write everyone with such care.

which is why you can likely expect the third piece to center around Professor Charlene Xavier and Erika Lenscherr...with cameos from the twins and probably Lorna, no doubt. Um this??? This may have just elicited a pitch I hadn't thought possible for me to make since I aged past 13. Literally. Dogs in my area are flinching. HOSHITWOMAN. :: fans self :: You are too good to me internet wife.

Thank you so much, love. Really, that's all I can say. I write fic because I love the characters and I love to write, but responses like this just blow my mind. It's always such a kick to realize that other people are willing to hop on whatever train I'm conducting that day, and that they enjoy the ride ( ... )

Ooh, you finished it! Very good stuff, Percy. I love your characterizations, and this is no exception. I think you've got everyone dead on, which isn't easy with gender!swapping. Are you going to follow this up with anything? I think I saw you say something about that earlier. Lovely, lovely job.

Thanks kindly for the praise! It was no small effort on my part, and I'm just glad people think it worked It's funny -- the whole genderswapping thing started off very awkwardly. It initially sounded like every bad fanfic I'd ever read ever, and took some major work to get to the point where I even thought it was readable. By the end, Andrew and Riley were just as easy to write as their canon counterparts. I'm honoured you took the time to read and respond so kindly to something that started so way out there.

I plan to follow it up, yes. The next piece introduces a male Emma Frost and female Wolverine into the universe, and the major subplot will be the romantic entanglements resulting for Scarlett. It's going to center around Scarlett and Riley though, and I've already started it. Which, actually, is kind of frightening. I'm still happy playing with these toys though, so there you have it.
