"Is it at all strange that's not the oddest thing that's happened to us this month?" Scarlett asked [...]

The redheaded man next to her just grinned as he squeezed Scarlett's shoulder reassuringly. "[...] you shouldn't say things like that. There's still a week and a half left."
==And JOY straight off the bat. OH THEM!

"So you can look, but not touch."

"In a nutshell."

"Shame." She stood up, stretching lazily towards the sun. "Never did like solitaire, me."
--OH ANOTHER SET OF THEM! Andrew had better take care. ;)

It had made sense at the time, seeing as Scarlett was female and Riley was female. But that would have involved revealing the whole situation to Scarlett, and while Andrew knew she meant well, Scarlett would probably end up trying to throttle the truth out of Riley.
-- That's such a very man-logic. ;) Scarlett is like the momma-bear? I would also really, really, really like to see Scarlett throttle Riley.

Two, he'd see it, get it, and there'd be some kind of absolution there. She'd never been good at admitting ( ... )

Scarlett was far, far too much fun to write. Which is why I'm glad she gets a much more prominent role in the next piece. I'm so happy you enjoyed her! I was scared she'd come off as Generic Stick-Up-Ass Leader Cyclops #3846, especially in that exchange between her and Riley, but it appears I've managed to make her work. Excellent. I'm glad you quoted that specific line too, to be honest. It's my favourite thing that comes out of Scarlett's mouth in the entire fic.
Trust me -- you will see Scarlett throttling Riley aplenty in "Sibling Rivalry". I'm already writing chunks of it in my head, and I am kind of in love with the vaguely IGutYouLikeAFish!Scarlett that's emerging.

Andrew, God love him, probably just set himself up for that. Remember, he's a little distracted by Riley's hips which don't lie at the time. I don't think she was even trying in that scene. If she actually does do a swish-swish thing as she walks naturally, or if Andrew is exaggerating a little, I don't think even I could tell you. I can tell you she was probably ( ... )

Re: Marrying you over Scarlett's taste in music.
BUT OF COURSE I WILLONCE I CHECK WITH MY OTHER INTERNET WIFE. AND SHARE THE MUSIC TOO.

John and Andrew will most certainly welcome you to their corner. Hell, John would probably bring the tequila. I leave it to you three to develop the drinking game, because John wants it to be a shot for every passive-aggressive remark (apparently, he wants to get smashed real quick), and Andrew is more in favour of a shot for every right hook thrown -- a slower game, as Scarlett has a preference for layong opponents out and getting them in choke holds, while Riley prefers to stay low and take quick and dirty knee shots.

...*blinks*
OH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE.

That was pretty awesome. You really know how to write Rogue/Gambit well, even when they're gender-swapped.

Thanks kindly! I had a lot of fun (read: crazy) writing it. I love Rogue and Gambit as characters, love their relationship (which is why a good deal of my fandom writing surrounds them), and your compliment means a lot. It's not just me having a love-fest over the characters, but a piece of decent writing.

Would you believe me if I told you that up until I started this piece, I would have told you that I'd never have wanted to try genderswapping? Hand to God. I had no interest in it at all, and then suddenly there Riley and Andrew were, and the rest isn't so much history as insanity. :)

So I commented over on FF. (That is, if you could call that rant a comment. :grins: )

As I saw -- and thank you!

It was the furthest thing from a rant, m'dear. You enjoyed it and told me so, and even pointed out a couple things that managed to escape my notice; that's appreciated. As is the fact you took the time to read that behemoth and respond in such depth.

Cheers!

Oh, that's just what Chica de los Ojos Cafe calls those kinds of reviews: a good rant, but meaning, on and on and on! :grins: I'm glad you enjoyed it.

I followed xenokattz. I was right to follow her. If it was possible, I'd quote back the entiere thing at you because more explanations go into dolphin noises.

Well, colour me honoured. I've got to pass along my thanks to Katt then.

Thanks kindly for following, for reading, and for loving! Dolphin noises are among the best kinds of praise. I appreciate you even bothering to let me know you'd enjoyed. Trite but true: it feeds the muses.

I plan more for this universe; we'll see how long it takes for those same muses to kill me. :)
