I am feeling awesome. I should be in bed, though, because tomorrow I am leaving the house to hang out with a friend, or, someone who I care a little about impressing, but can't actually tell me to shut up, because he's nice. It's imaginatively titled "Brutus and Hotspur" and it's all about honor and the way that the two characters represent a dying value system (at least, within the play) and has a dash of new Historicism ( I think) in discussing what this meant to Shakespeare's audience. Hmm, very thinky.

Indeed, shiny person!

Okay, but in the near future, it's a date!

It's by Robert Lordi, from Shakespeare Quarterly. A caveat; the first half is really interesting, and mentions all these wonderful similarities between the two characters but the second half sort of loses steam, and rambles about images of sickness in the two plays, which is a serious problem in two ways; one, it has very little to do with the comparison of the two characters, and two, the paper is only eight pages long, and half of it being not-very-good is sort of killing. Um. The first half is really good though!

Ooooh, S! Yay for social life! I need one.

Also, whatever you're cooking sounds awesome. What did you make that has those rather disparate things in?

Social lives are interesting; I was pleasantly surprised by that.

I actually made three different things: mango chutney, cranberry relish and basil pesto. They are indeed, delicious. I am so pleased!
