A nice quiet evening of being yelled at, RP with Kwan

Sep 09, 2007 13:54

As soon as Lancer knew Ms. Manson had the video footage of the lake's deep one trying to catch ducks he knew he was in some sort of trouble. As soon as he saw Kwan's reaction to the footage hitting the internet Lancer knew where that trouble was coming from ( Read more... )

When he saw Sam's post on her journal, Kwan had a sinking feeling in his gut, like he had just swallowed a brick or something. After clicking the link and watching the video, he could only sit at his computer and twitch and try to contain the explosion that was threatening to come out.

As soon as he heard the car pull up in front of the house, Kwan stalked out of his room and to the front door, glaring at it and waiting for Lancer to enter.

Kwan paused. Well, that was indeed a good point. He also didn't think there would be all that many people out monster hunting at night. "Sounds fine to me," he answered. "School doesn't start for a while still so I don't have to worry about fall asleep during class the next day."

"Then when would you like a lesson?" Lancer asked. He was less than worried about staying awake at work. He doubted the students would notice if he was half awake during classes.

"Whenever you feel ready to start teaching me," Kwan answered, grinning. "We could start tonight, if you wanted."

"Do you want to?" Lancer asked.

"Of course!" Kwan answered immediately, sounding almost like an overexcited child.

"Let's get some dinner then we can go down to the lake," Lancer offered.

"What shall we have?" Kwan asked as he started walking toward the kitchen. Phantom and Cujo were sleeping curled up with each other under the table when they entered. Odd place, but Kwan shrugged it off. They were always finding random places to sleep after playing.

"Something easy," Lancer said, opening the fridge to look inside. "I don't think either of us wants to be cooking something elaborate or doing dishes afterwards."

To make his point he pulled out boxes of leftover chinese.

"Good point," Kwan said as he got down some plates for them. He liked to think he was getting better at the whole cooking thing though.

Lancer handed Kwan a box, what was left of the sweet and sour chicken. "Don't even need plates," Lancer said, getting some chopsticks out of the silverware drawer and digging into his box of half-eaten broccoli beef.

Kwan put the dishes back in their cabinet before he accepted the box. He grabbed a pair of chopsticks for himself. Walking over to the table, he collapsed into a chair as he started eating the leftover sweet and sour chicken.

Lancer handed Kwan the box of fried rice, intending to pass it back and forth. He got the other two boxes out of the fridge, a vegetable medley and a teriyaki pork, and transferred them all to the table. He took a seat across from Kwan. "So how do you propose we get into the lake while attracting minimum attention?" he asked, biting the leaves off of a broccolli flourette. "We won't have the usual distraction of a hundred other swimmers."

Kwan sampled from the other boxes as he pondered over Lancer's question. "Hm... I don't suppose going around to a more secluded part of the lake would work?" he asked, frowning. It hadn't occurred to him how they would get to the lake without looking suspicious.

"There is always the swamp," Lancer suggested. "No one goes there because it's too dangerous for those beings without tails."

He snuck a piece of the sweet and sour chicken from Kwan's box then went back to the teriyaki pork.

Kwan didn't comment when Lancer snagged some of his chicken. Lancer had, after all, paid for the food, and Kwan was taking some from Lancer's box as well.

"I guess that's really the only way," he said after some thought. The swamp would be the only place without anyone around to spot them.
