Title: Intervention Author: dominus_trinus (lit_luminary) Rating: PG Characters/Pairings: House, Chase (friendship/mentorship). Summary: This isn’t the kind of thing he usually does, but he’s not considering the alternative.
nice story, I can actually see that happening... will there be a sequal? like chase going or not going to therapy? it will be nice! and maybe it's just for me, but the link in read more on the chase fic com was with problems... (I had to click on your journal's name to read, if you get what I mean...)[just correcting]
Thank you for your comment, and for letting me know there was a problem with the link. I've fixed it now.
I'm glad you found the fic in-character. As for the possibility of a sequel...I wrote this as something that could fit into the time between this past episode and the next without being contradicted by canon in the future, so I'm not sure. Although if Chase does end up going to therapy, certainly I'll write about it.
aah I understand ^^ altough I doubt Chase is going to therapy (or maybe is just me who either wants Chase in jail or drinking himself into oblivion... I'm weird...) anyway yeah the link is perfect now ^^
Ohh, short and sweet and so, so beautifully done and perfectly in character. I really loved reading this and can see this as something that would happen after this episode.
You got their descriptions down perfectly, their emotions, their interaction, and you told it all in still such a gripping way. This was absolutely wonderful to read!
Really good, again. I hope we see House being this pro-active. There's a good chance I think, after Kutner. His acceptance of Chase's awkward hug speaks volumes for House's reconnectedness since Mayfield; in fact I think this began even while he was 'pretending' to comply-all that chatting and smiling we saw in group therapy must have had some effect despite himself.
My calculations ran along similar lines: Kutner's suicide would have been a wake-up call in terms of the need to be involved in the lives of those that matter to him--not just present, not just spouting glib remarks, but actually giving support.
As for the hug--if he could give Alvie a hug on the way out of Mayfield, having known him seven weeks, certainly he could accept one from Chase, whom he's known for going on seven years now (and whom, I've always thought, he has a quasi-paternal attachment to).
