Very clever. Clever idea from you and clever Xander for having the idea. Lovely Xander voice too. It isn't really babble, is it? The terms Xander-babble and Willow-babble are so established, they're fanon, but in fact, it was more the way he talked, as stream of consciousness, and the way he used slang and metaphor. You have got it beautifully here. And I love the way you leave it to the reader to imagine how this one speech will change the future.
Purely for interest, I had a look and Xander had 1,880 speeches in the first 2 seasons. About 12% of those were longer than 20 words and only a handful as long as 50.
It's a weird verbal pattern, that's for sure. He didn't go on and on (the typical babble pattern), but you're right that he tended to be very stream of consciousness, and in seasons one and two, he sort of said whatever crossed his mind, although that seemed to fade as he got older, which I missed. The "bitca" line still cracks me up, but older Xander tended to think before he spoke a little more. It was fun to play with this young one again.
Lovely, simply lovely. Xander babble at it's best *Happy sigh* Spike would have been so proud of his boy if he had been there :) *HUGS* Lady Q, who also hopes that you will do a sequel.
This is why I love young Xander. He could tell it is without getting all insecure about possibly messing up his friendships. He was esceptionally bold and honest in his own way.
Young Xander is a joy to play with. He really was bold, speaking out against Angelus even when he had every reason to believe Angelus could break her into little pieces.

Minor edit: "Up to now he could put the child's words up to unintentionally meanness or dumb luck,"
