Yeah, I'm no fan of the current writing concerning this conflict between House and Cuddy. I don't mind the drama, but it would have been nice if it was about something that felt less contrived to begin with or if it didn't feel like beating a horse to9 death with the same repetitive argument for three episodes.
There was such an easy way for them to fix that whole fight-without-reason rubbish. Just throw in a comment about how it's not even about the lie anymore and more about them out-stubborning each other. It wouldn't have changed how stupid Cuddy was being but at least it would make sense with their characters, ya know? Also I wish they'd made it clearer whether House apologising was because he wanted to make her happy or because he just wanted to stop the fight. Or maybe it's not supposed to matter? IDK. It matters to me.
Good luck with the job! And the short, hopefully once more people are locked in things will be more stable? That is so awesome you have a mentor willing to be honest with you and critiques you in a way that you can learn from. And knowing how visual your pottery story is, I can imagine how much a challenge writing from a non-directional viewpoint will be. But you are clever, you can do it :D
I know exactly what you mean about concrit. I always wonder what the deal is on doing it with like, icon posts or vids or w/e cause I don't want to look like a bitch. But it is so great when someone isn't afraid to tell you the truth. Like, sometimes it'll suck--my bff, for example. If I'm crying over something and I explain, it's like--"Alice you can't let people you don't respect define you, that's pathetic, you're being stupid" etc etc etc, not "YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYONE SHOULD LOVE YOU, THEY'RE JUST WRONG" it's like "YOU ARE BEING AN IDIOT" and IDK it really ~grounds~ me. Even if at the time, I cry harder lol. But I'm insanely grateful for her besides.
