I'm not an Oprah watcher, but I'm fascinated by mental disorders and I want to see this episode. Do you know whether I can stream it online?

Shit, I actually don't know, I normally don't watch Oprah either but when I saw this was what it was on, I stopped. I'll try and find a download or something, if I find it anywhere I'll let you guys know.

That is fascinating and kind of... amazing in a strange way?

You never hear about children this young having schizophrenia. I think I knew it was possible, but I've never heard it happening before. Wow.

Damn, I would have watched this if I had known about it... I wonder if it's online somewhere..

I'm going to find it somewhere even if I have to order it because I love it so much and I also really need my psych teacher to see it.

And oh my god, her best RL friend, her name is Becca or something, and she's actually real and they get along because Becca has paranoid schizophrenia. And they sit and talk about their imaginary friends with each other and "I like Becca because she believes me and I believe her and we know all of our friends are real" and oh my god.

I totally just Googled "9 year old schizophrenic", and found Jani's story on Oprah's website. They also had a link to Jani's father's blog, which I've been reading.
It's just... amazing.

I want AND need to see this. My little brother has schizophrenia, though it's not as bad as this. The disorder fascinates me to no end.

SAME, I am SO fascinated by it. How old is your brother? And yeah this girl, it's one of the most severe cases of it doctors have ever seen. She's on high-ass doses of last-resort ADULT medication for it, in addition to 600mg of Lithium. I found a place that's been uploading the last few Oprah eps, so I'll check tomorrow and see if this one goes up too, god I hope so

Wow. That's so gnarly! My little brother just turned 6. He talks to people that nobody can see, and he gets really scared all the time. :[

That is so interesting to me - does he talk to people he sees? Or does he see animals, too? (If you don't mind me asking. You don't have to tell me, I'm just really fascinated by it)

on what's real. the first thing on my mind - Herbert Wells' story 'The Country of the Blind' (1911) !!!

...we all have our own universes. but we're all alone in there. the world known as real exists for communication and is the only chance to pick at someone else's worlds.
