NOT GETTING IT THAT EPISODE DOESN'T MEAN WE'RE NOT GETTING IT. There can still be sex some OTHER episode. And besides, I think it probably just means that it wasn't filmed, or it won't be airing then. I don't see them having it ready to film and them saying "HEY YOU KNOW WHAT? LETS DITCH IT. TOTALLY. LETS BIN THE SCRIPT AND WRITE NEW SHIT"

... That'd just hold up production even more.

AAAND I JUST READ THE POST. That was so going to be the episode. FUCKING JSHDGFKHGSDF. AS IF. Well maybe they'll save it for the finale. They were gonna do something big for the superbowl but that episode can't air then so it'd just be this huge advancement randomly mid season. And also, it's Ausiello. He kinda talks a lot of crap. Also, his wording is a little vague;

a planned two-part episode that was going to air after the big game and then continue the following Tuesday was scrapped due to the strike. Instead, a regular eppy guest-starring Oscar-winner Mira Sorvino will take its place. The reason that episode won't air then is because it wasn't FILMED. YET. And Lisa said that she was looking forward to getting back to film it. I think he chose a really bad word with "scrapped", when in all likelihood "moved" is better. I just cannot get my head around

god. i really hope theyre not throwing it out. like i told london_fan just now, i think a superbowl slot was finally the excuse they needed to put it all out there. and now that they dont have that anymore, idk if they'll be too keen on it. but you're right, if it's written already, it makes more than enough sense for them to just stick with it. they cant really afford to throw it out.

I just heard that today too on the TWOP boards. All I really want is a new episode for the post-Superbowl spot. Really, this is a chance in a lifetime for fandom. I just want them to save ONE new episode for the post-Superbowl spot, and I'll be happy. Given that most episodes are pretty good in my book, I just want a decent episode in that spot, so I can glorify in the specialness of post-Superbowl House. This is one of the few television shows that'll get a post-Superbowl spot in their run, and I remember when XF showed "Leonard Betts" in its post-Superbowl spot. It was beyond special.

I KNOW! GOD, THAT'S ANOTHER THING I WAS EXCITED FOR - just knowing that there were going to be a bunch of people watching it. Just that feeling of... idk, pride or something? like, "HI I'VE WATCHED THIS SHOW FOR TWO YEARS AND YOU'RE JUST SEEING IT, LOOK HOW GREAT IT IS *SHARES*". idk it's a weird feeling i was anticipating and i'm not going to get it. but i suppose it will kind of be the same, since they're still showing a new one at least.

i was not around when Leonard Betts aired, but i bet it was, and I know that in general, that's a favourite among XF fans. AND I NEVER KNEW THAT IT HAD THE POST-SUPERBOWL SLOT. IT MAKES THE CANCER CLIFFHANGER SO MUCH MORE AWESOME.

I am refusing to believe that it will be scrapped comepletely. I am choosing to believe that it means ok, not after the Superbowl, but still happening some other time. Better for my mental fucking sanity. Plus I do honestly believe that is how it will be.

I'm angry as hell about that too, but I guess since Shore and Co apparently wanted this story line spectacular dramatic with a great audience (e.g. after the superbowl) I got another idea: what if they're saving it for the finale?!? I mean they always tried to show us something spectacular at the end of the season(and failed pretty much with season 3), but that would surely be a great cliffhanger for season 5!!!
But maybe that's just me trying to stay optimistic :/

I realise I'm probably coming off really... IDK, annoying and preachy or bitchy even, BUT THIS IS ALL JUST ME BEING MY OPTIMISTIC SELF...

The sex wouldn't have just been because of the Superbowl. They've been building it up for a long time. Before they even knew they got the slot. I mean look at, well... Everything since Forever. 18 months... They just chose that episode because of the potential draw and I don't see it as a "now or never" thing. And I'm still firmly believing that the episode will get made. That may well make me delusional, idek. SOMEONE NEEDS TO TALK TO MR SHORE OR MS JACOBS. PRONTO.
