"Do not hire a man who does your work for money, but him who does it for love of it."

I know I am going to upset people, but I don't care because I've never been one to be quiet for the sake of someone else. I AM SO SICK. OF THIS WRITERS STRIKE CRAP. And I know there are other people that are sick of it too, because they've told me they were. They ALSO told me that they were hesitant to speak publicly about it because they didn't ( Read more... )

I love that you had the balls to post this. ♥

And you know how I feel about it, lol. I know I've mentioned it in a couple of entries and stuff but ngh, as a gripe. As you know. I have no intention of getting behind it. At all.

YES. SELFISH. And you're right - it's a gamble. Anything in Hollywood is so unstable and has the potential to be unfair. That's why, if you're gonna be in any part of the business, you've GOTTA be in it for the love of it. And you're right - there ARE a lot of writers that would KILL to have a weekly show. It's kind of a slap in the face.

Really? You haven't heard much about it? They're doing it because they apparantly aren't making hardly any money on like, episode sales on the internet. They want more money, basically.

And I hate to be a bitch, but is there any way that you could switch out that icon for another one of her? That is like... my favorite one ever and I totally expressed I was whoring it, and it kind of jolts my insides everytime I see it because I think it's ME when it's not

Who decides what the writers "deserve"? The writers themselves? IS there even a set standard for what any specific profession should "deserve"? And even IF the editors are being paid what they deserve, the whole time this strike goes on, those people are not being paid at ALL. For the sake of a battle that shouldn't even involve them. THERE is where I see the bullshit.

And with all due respect, because you know I love you, how is everyone posting on their little f-locked LJ's going to bring an end to the strike?

See, that's why I think there has got to be a different way for the writers to go about this - a way that doesn't affect quite literally EVERYONE in close proximity to them. Do I know what this other solution is? No. But I wish they would have thought about it, or waited until they found a better plan of action (if there is one. i dont know)
