Why not? People *do* change, and you have done much of that over the years, and muchly for the better, in my opinion. If people can't (or rather won't, depending on the person) both see and recognize that, then it is truly their loss, my dear, and certainly not yours...
Think about it...do you really require the presence of such short-minded people in your life, which you have worked so hard to make and now to maintain?
Just my two cents...and for what it's worth, I have a great amount of respect and good regard for you, which has only grown over the last few years. I am proud of you and what you have become, and proud to know you and to have seen all that you have accomplished for yourself.

What I was trying to say (and clearly failed ;-) was... "I had to go through a lot to gain respect, but I have it now, you (other person who I rather dislike) can't expect to have been horrid for years and just demand respect now."
