It is all one trip, though a lengthy one. I made all of that with the exception of Ireland (no money to get off the bigger island) in bits and peices over the course of nine months. Of course, I was studying computer science at the time as well... I'll stop now- I'm known for talking a lot and the time in England is a subject that I blather even more about. Suffice it to say you have excellent taste in travel destinations ( ... )

Agreed, Wales you can do a good job of in a week travelling, Scotland (to do fully and properly) would take several weeks, England even longer, and i've not gotten to Ireland, but i suspect you're looking at something similar to Scotland timewise.

Assuming its a limited-time trip you'd be best off concentrating on one/a couple of areas (say Wales and Central England, or Southern England, or Northern England, or Southern or Northern Scotland - Ireland i am not qualified to comment on, though i hope to go there in November i think) and actually getting to see some good stuff, rather than coming back feeling like you didn't really see anything.

Plus thats more excuses to return :D

I also have a couple e-friends in England, so it seemed a reasonable place to go.

Darkover: there's two ways to do it - chronologically, or in the order they were written. I'd go for the order they were written, myself, but if you want to go chronologically, I have the first and the last, a couple in between, and a stop at the used book store will get you started on the rest for under $20.

Mmmm.. Black Jewels. It would be a trick to do: I'm seeing doing, maybe, a queen's court, with the Queen and her first circle (or just the Queen and her Consort) being NPC's. Before, during, or after Dorotea?

I haven't read the Summon the Keeper series, just the four Quaters series. Have you read Robin Hobb's Assasin series?

I can lend you No Quarter and Quartered Sea

Would you mind that I add you? I'm trying to find more people within my age group around the city of Rochester to associate with on LJ.

Wow, you weren't kidding about "within my age group;" you're within months of me! You're got an infinitely cooler job than I do, however.

What do you do for hobby-type-stuff?

I'm not really sure how to respond to the tell me something about yourself, you'll probably have to ask me a more direct question.

Hobbies: I used to totally be into the role-playing games such as AD&D, D&D when I was younger and my friends and I used to make up games like that involving real-life characters. But alas, so much time as gone by and now the only RPG games I get into are those which come out on PS2 or PC though I only have a limited count. Very limited. Time is sparse.

Other hobbies include mostly of what is stated in my LJ profile interests. Check them out! :-)
