Why thank you ma'am. I do enjoy getting the houses to 'work' together. It's just so fun.

I included McGonagall the ghoulie in the Draco/Neville fic as well. Only apparently no one noticed it in that one.

And after a little wiki-ing, apparently yes. I grew up knowing it as gypsy bread, which I assume is no longer a pc term and should be traveller bread or some such. And then it became eggy bread. To me French toast involves sugar and cinnamon. Probably because that's the only way I've ever had it when it was called French toast.

*snickers helplessly* Glorious!

You do win at life. *places medal 'round your neck* As does snark. This is a very underappreciated genre, and I love the way you do it.

I don't like it, I love it, and I shall return later in the day to say something more coherent. Thank you so much, liseuse! Maggie

I'm glad you liked it. I keep meaning to write serious things. This? Well this was supposed to be a series of very serious vignettes from the midst of the war, involving people finding comfort where they could. Only it turned out somewhat differently. Hmmm.

And I shall look forward to your more coherent comments!

Nah, no serious things. There's too much of that out there: angst, Serious Issues, war. (And I'm as guilty as the next person on that count.) It's hard to read after a while ( ... )

The tone of this is called "playing to my best advantage", I always want to write about serious things, but never manage and I can't write schmoop to save my life, so I stick to the snark.

As for Harry-with-an-edge - I can see him becoming that Harry once the war is over and he gets a chance to relax a little. Realises he doesn't necessarily need to be earnest all the time.

the brittle relationship between Pansy and Draco - huh, I'm not saying it isn't, I just didn't intend it to come off as brittle exactly. More genuine affection buried under a lot of needling and exact knowledge of each other's pressure points.

It's how I imagine these characters acting as young adults, breezy and self-confident and clever and feeling on top of the world without being sentimental at all.
Possibly the result of my reading for much of my young adult-age being Evelyn Waugh and P.G. Wodehouse.

I'm ever so glad you liked this. Now for all the other fic I am supposed to be writing. The list just keeps getting longer. Eeep.

Thank you!
I hope that I've at least persuaded you that they aren't an emetic!

Oh, I'm loving your Pansy and Hermione here, they're just so much fun. And the snark. The wonderful snark. There were many, many laugh-out-loud bits here, notably:

As if one shag is going to make up for having to have a conversation with the Minister and Flitwick whilst trying to hide my lap under a napkin...

Oh, the image of it. ♥

Thank you very much. I aim to make people laugh. And poor Draco, Harry was mean to him. But he did make it up to him after.
