Tired but accomplished

Last night was Alison's delightful thirtieth birthday party. I got myself dolled up in my 17th century dress again--I even curled my hair and *gasp* attempted to do eye makeup-- and got to hang out with a bunch of other nerds in masks ( Read more... )

I am going to be bidding something as well, not sure what. Most of my games have been run into the ground at this point. But definitely something. So good on Sarah for getting started so early!

"When I suggested running LXHS at WPI to Matt, he twitched, but he didn't outright veto it. I take that as tacit approval ;)"

I believe the turn of phrase you're looking for is "Acknowledgement that he will eventually be persuaded." ;P

"I even curled my hair and *gasp* attempted to do eye makeup..."

Also, note, I object to this choice of phrasing.

You definitely did more than simply attempt to do eye makeup, you succeeded.

Admittedly, it wasn't particularly visible when you wore the mask, but that's a separate matter. :)

It wasn't particularly visible even WITHOUT the mask ;) But practice practice practice.

Hon, makeup doesn't need to be blatant to be doing its job. It certainly wasn't heavy enough for stage makeup type see-from-a-distance, but it was not without effect.

Though, it is true that the little brushes we have for the eye makeup are somewhat stubborn. I had some issue with getting notable application when doing my eyes for MCR2k.

Completely bummed I missed the party. Sounds like fun.

What kind of hospital gowns are you looking for? The paper or fabric sort? Pity I'm no longer in hospitals these days, but I might still be able to help. It sounds like one hell of a costuming concept.

Fabric gowns - I'm thinking maybe one or two with a blue pattern on white for the basic kimono, and a contrasting blue-green for trim, waist tie, and a godet effect in the back.

I think I can probably find what I'm looking for online, actually - a quick search tells me there are many places willing to sell me hospital gowns for very cheap.

If you can find fabric hospital gowns, can you get one for me? I can certainly pay you back. I need to paint mine with giant colorful flowers.

Absolutely! They should be pretty cheap - I'm seeing about $8-$10 per gown.

Okay, if you are willing to go a little bit more expensive on the gowns, I found this place that has a HUGE selection:

They have the best options for what I need, but the minimum order is six pieces, tho, so I'd need a couple of other people to help out. (I'll probably need 2-3 to construct my own). I'm looking at (probably) the "patient comfort gowns" because they have the best selection of prints and colors.
