Freedom of speech my ass.

I think I might have to get political on someone's ass. I found a pamphlet on the table of our department's breakroom at work. For the second time. The first time, I sorta laughed it off. But now that it's reappeared, I'm slightly pissed. Not for me, really, but for my coworkers, the ones who might be too scared to speak out for themselves ( Read more... )

ARRRRRGH. ::rages and breaks all sorts of shit:: I hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE THAT BULLSHIT. There were these fucktards on my campus that regularly harassed the P.R.I.D.E. group *and* the local pagan group so I ran into them almost weekly. I'm sorry, call me closed minded if you will, but that kind of crap is just...baseless hate mongering.

If I found a pamphlet like that where I work, I would immediately leave all kinds of PFLAG stuff and other goodies. Just to share the love, y'know?

I'll shut up now, before I get an ulcer.

*thoughtfully* You know, my favourite part about the whole argument using the Old Testament is not that all these people pick and choose which part to follow, it's that Jesus himself contradicted a whole bunch of it. Christians are supposed to take Jesus's word. What did Jesus say about homosexuality?

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

My point exactly.

Also, random trivia: Still not exactly fair, but the catechism of the Catholic Church specifically states that homosexuality is a condition and not a sin, and homosexuals should be welcomed and comforted because they have to deal with such a huge "burden" that they are born with.
