Freedom of speech my ass.

I think I might have to get political on someone's ass. I found a pamphlet on the table of our department's breakroom at work. For the second time. The first time, I sorta laughed it off. But now that it's reappeared, I'm slightly pissed. Not for me, really, but for my coworkers, the ones who might be too scared to speak out for themselves ( Read more... )

Complain to your boss. Tell them someone is sexually harassing you, because it sounds like that's exactly what this is.

Yeah. Last night I decided that I had to do that, just to protect the others working with me who might be too scared, etc, to stand up for themselves. I mean, all my bosses KNOW about me, so it's sort of my duty to protect the ones that don't want to be out.

Oy vey.

That's just sickening. I'm absolutely speechless.

You know a lot of homophobes are homosexual themselves. Look at Ted Haggard. Karma is gonna bitchslap whomever did this, big time.

Yeah. I was ok until I actually READ the whole thing, instead of just skimming it. Now I'm definitely going to talk to my boss. The MAIN boss, not my immediate supervisor. After all, I'm one of their best workers, and totally out there. I at least owe it to them to let them know there's a problem.

I'm actually shocked that so many psychiatrists voted to keep homosexuality listed as an illness. Some people are so woefully ignorant. I really wish more bigoted people would meet gay people. It's very hard to hate a group of people when you actually KNOW someone from that group. I've noticed there are VERY few people in the theatre community who dislike homosexuals and I think this is because there are so many gay people in theatre. I know I should be a bigger person and just pity their ignorance but instead I'm pissed off at their hate.

You're talking about a bunch of people who, at that time, still thought that female hysteria is solved by hysterectomy and clitoris is a symbol of envy every woman holds for a male.

True. But I guess I just like to assume people are more enlightened nowadays.

*snuggles*

Fuckers.

Now, if they read their own Bibles, I wouldn't have said a word.

But just... fuckers.

And oh dear god, the world will end if we concentrate on the message of love that god (if he/she/it exists) probably tried to send through those uneducated sheepherders instead of their own spiteful ignorance.

Yeah. I'm so fucking sick of having religion shoved in my face all the time. I'm definitely going to have to say something.

Sounds to me hon like someone is harrassing you, or at the very least a gay co-worker. I would complain in spades, and loudly. No one should be subjected to this sort of vile emotional abuse.

*Nods* Yeah. I'm going to talk to the head boss today, I think. If I'm not late to work, like I usually am.

Let me know how that goes. This is not appropriate for the work place.

Yeah, I'm going to make a post about it in the morning. Too tired now.
