yeah, its a sucky place to be, but im there too. im hardly ever surprised anymore at all; with all the crap people have told me in my office and the things that ive discussed with people, nothing really hits me hard anymore. i respond with the, oh really, blank faced look to almost anything. shocked, nah, that just doesnt happen. the last time that did happen was over a year ago when a male client of mine revealed that he was actually a she on hormones and had never had surgery done. that kind of freaked me out, but that wasnt a scare. comparing everything to that mentally i guess is what i do, so therefore everything else is nothing. with that innocence goes bye bye, and thats the true sadness of not being shocked or surprised anymore. bday gifts that i dont expect surprise me, but everyday things dont. i really miss that and once its gone theres no going back.
