Ugh. What a strange weekend. Not in the 'a lot of stuff happened' sort of way but more in the 'emotional rollercoaster (I'm a big ol' manic-depressive)' sort of way. I really need to stop telling myself I suck, it's not terribly productive ( Read more... )

I, too, succumbed to the call of the ice cream on Friday night. However, I managed not to buy any more when I went grocery shopping on Saturday. And I'm back on my frozen veggie entrees for lunch, which helped a lot last year.

And, continuing our brainshare, I'm also rewatching Lost. I'm up through "Special"--Michael's episode (because yes, I spent THAT much time in front of my TV this weekend). I cannot say much of intelligence about it. You're way better at that than I am. Apparently, though, I'm a very bad person, because for the second time I was glad when Shannon appeared to be dead. And I still wish that had been true and not poor dead Boone. I also <3 Hurley even more this time through, and also Michael.

Oh ice cream, why do you taunt us so?

I do have to admit that I have a half-gallon of Edy's in my freezer but since it's the double-churned, half the fat stuff I don't feel too guilty about having a bit with my dinner.

Frozen veggie entrees? What, pray tell, are those?

Poor, poor dead Boone. I'm a bad person in that I was mocking his death while it was happening. But, when I saw the Pilot again I got a little choked up by how much he was trying to help and how he was going to be dead soon. *sniffle* Poor, poor Boone.

I don't blame you for wanting Shannon dead. She really can be a manipulative bitch. Michael and Hurley deserve all of the love in the world. If I were on the island I'd be hard pressed to choose between them but since I probably wouldn't get the choice anyway I suppose I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Green Giant frozen veggies. Five minutes in the microwave. They're the perfect at-work lunch. My favorites are brocolli and cheese, green bean casserole (especially in winter) and the various rice pilafs. They are often on special at many stores and are a relatively inexpensive and definitely easy and veggirific lunch option ( ... )

Hmm, I'll have to keep my eyes open for those. They sound yummy.

Aaaaww, your Boone love is so sweet. You know, it's probably because of Boone's relatability as a character that turned so many people off. They didn't want to see someone mess up like they would. The longer he's been gone the more I've missed him and I can't imagine what next season will be like without him.

I agree with your Michael thoughts. He's such a great, natural father. And now there needs to be an icon of Hurley that says True Island Hero.

Sawyer's quite the divisive little booger. He's hot, so lots of people love him but he's also self-centered and petty so lots of people hate him. Me, I simply appreciate the attractivness and the snide comments and cease to care once the channel has been turned.

The only time you can say you suck is if you have a significant other.

Today's pep talk has been brought to you by "inappropriateness."

Also... I don't remember whom I spoke with about this, but I think the most fascinating thing about Lost is relating all the characters to the characters from Stephen King's The Stand.

HA! You, sir, are the King of Inappropriateness.

*bows down*

It is fascinating and there is quite a bit of correlation. Lost steals quite liberally from lots of sources but The Stand is very evident in a lot of not only the burgeoning mythology but also the character interactions. It's pretty dang cool.

It's drawing us in with its evil ways. Soon we will all be slaves to its whims. It shall conquer the entire world.

Just so you know: You rock. In both general and specific ways.

Also, if it makes you feel better, I eat ice cream damn near every day.

Aaaaww, thanks. You do too.

You know, I didn't have any ice cream yesterday. I should rectify that this evening. =D
