i had always assumed that jaimie leonarder was just some regular, wanker of a film critic who appears on "the movie show". it wasn't until last week, when i saw a little documentary called love and anarchy - the wild wild world of jaimie leonarder that i properly realised who he is: a fringe scene demi god with a gaping bleeding heart.
the documentary blurb reads:
"Jaimie Leonarder defies categorisation. Performer, diversional therapist, broadcaster, street worker, nightclub impresario, archivist and champion of outsider culture - this is Jaimie's life so far. Welcome to the supercharged world of the compassionate Jaimie Leonarder, whose life is a remarkable mixture of working on the frontline of street welfare, therapy for people with extreme mental and physical disabilities and a passion for show business, performance and art, including his notorious industrial noise band the
Mu-Mesons, made up of ex-psychiatric patients and eccentrics who push music to its limits."
plus, to top it all off, he collects lost and discarded films and music and runs an underground cinema.
surely it's not my fault if i should find myself stalking him, right?
