Thank you SO much. You're really very kind to take the time to try an OF and to be encouraging, too. Thank you.

Well, I figured it was written by you, so it had to be good...
lo and behold, I was right!
(seriously, you did a great job. you introduced a main character - giving him a personality in an impossibly few paragraphs - created conflict, a sense of other-worldliness, and most importantly, hinted at background and plot. all without going into too much detail or without being too subtle. excellent pacing for a novel, I believe. *hint hint*)

I agree with everythign oddsbobs said! It was a brilliant way to open a novel, without feeling like it was totally textbook. This is how you start a novel... You know the way I mean?
The caravan leader's great, his little quips, hehe. And your hero has some issues to take us through! Actually, I'm just interested in how he gets along with the elephant later on...
Ah, I'm really tired and becoming maddingly sleep-deprived. Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain....
*hugs* I'm so proud of you! :D Totally wasn't expecting to see anything original from you on the flist, and poofadoofadoo, there it was! Part two will come soon, yes?

Best new word of the week! *holds it in hands*
Thank you so much for reading this, it's just something I've been playing around with. I'll make sure Jeslyn gets acquainted with the elephant, and the caravan leader keeps quipping. :D

How are you doing these days? *frets*

I'm doing okay. Lungs are clearer, I'm not coughing so much, and I went back to work on Tuesday. But I have ridiculously low energy and haven't made it through the day yet. On Tuesday and Thursday I spent half the day sleeping in the nurse's office, and got sent home early today and Wednesday. I don't feel awful, I'm just exhausted all the time. Even when I have no classes and spend the day sitting at my desk reading a book - it's ridiculous! I officially hate pneumonia. But you're so sweet for worrying. *hugs*
