“Please… I know I am hideous…” he began in his deep low voice. “Do not fear me…”
“Do you have a tail?” she inquired curiously.
i think that's one of my favorite parts. oh and i'm afraid i'm attached to howard too. hehe this was a good bedtime story for me so wonderful hugs and e-sugar cookies to you! and happy holidays :D

And OH I got to see the movie the other night on Ovation! The effects in that were so wonderful, and it had such an eerie atmosphere. Oddly, I think my favorite detail was those swans in the pond at the end, the way they weren't being all decorative and docile, but hissing and guarding their territory.

You know, odd as it sounds, I wonder how a slash fairy tale would be. You know, Sirius as the beauty and Remus as the beast?
You should totally write that!! It's not a fairy tale, but that scenario sort of reminds me of this fic by penknife, which is an AU featuring Remus as Jane Eyre and Sirius as Mr. Rochester. It sounds cracky, but for me it really works.

Sirius is definitely better as the blustery royal half. :D

And I forgot to tell you this in my other comment: There's a band called Venus Hum that has a song named Bella Luna. It played and played in my head while I read your story.
Bella Luna, Bella baby girl,
Sweetest world, put the pearl down
I cannot think of letting go...

Oh, that's enchanting, I didn't know! I will have to try to find it on CD someday and hear it.
It would be very interesting to know the psychological reasons why people love the fairy tales they do! I always liked that Belle went bravely and willingly to do what she had to do, and that she came to love the real person under the strange exterior. I also liked the remote, inaccesible castle and the whole nature theme to the story.

I look forward to reading your Hermione/Weasley version one of these days, too. :)
