In light of a few things---

Inspired by a cursed past---

Why would it be appropriate to strike a person other than in combat or at play? In polite company it is never appropriate. It's expected of rude, cruel people but is it learned? I don't want to ever dismiss anyone's upbringing, we all are raised differently after all.

For the Orks, striking a fellow Ork is the only way to gain money and respect. For Kroot, eating your foe is a sign of respect.

Outside of those two, unless it goes along with some sort of ritual or tradition, I'd say it's not.
