[For Peter] Halloween pre-play.

When Lionel wakes up, he's almost half surprised he's done so naturally; he's sure he isn't the only one who had a hard time falling asleep the night before, unsure if another day like last Halloween would be there when they woke up. The boarding house is as quiet as it has been since the events a few months earlier, and he finds the silence

"I didn't think I'd ordered a wake-up call," Peter drowsily mumbles, his eyes still shut and his body lethargic. He takes the moment to wrap an arm about Lionel's waist and to bring him very close, intending to stay in bed come disaster or silence. After all, nothing can get him this time about. At least, that's his fervent hope.

[lionelthayer]

"You didn't," Lionel confirms, happily willing to let Peter pull him close, but not so much to let him fall asleep again. "It was either this," a point he makes by kissing Peter's shoulder, "or taking pictures of you asleep."

"No more pictures while I'm asleep," Peter muffles into the pillow, glancing over his shoulder to Lionel as he finally opens his eyes. "I'm so very tired of burning those, you know," he gently teases, because he does no such thing. "I don't hear screaming. Is that a good thing?"

"It's a very good thing," Lionel confirms, and he has no qualms with how happy and relieved he sounds about it. He knows they're not the only ones who had so much to deal with last year, but Lionel allows himself a selfish moment to be glad Peter's right there next to him and just fine.
