He's worried and feeling guilty about Stefan (although he'd never admit it), not happy that Stefan is causing Elena so much pain and strife, and had to watch his distraction, Andie, get killed by said brother. I was impressed that he chose to wreck Stefan's room in reaction (instead of going on a murderous rampage). He's definitely showing signs of growth (which I love).
SO PROUD OF DAMON!!!

Thanks for commenting, Val :)

It's great to see Damon having some middle-ground when it comes to his reactions. In the past, it's been all-or-nothing.

He was in serious pain and very near the edge and this time, he did NOT go over it. Hopefully we'll have lots more things to be proud of him for, as the season progresses.

I agree, Damon seems to be keeping it together better. Perhaps seeing how far over the edge Stefan is works to balance him. Poor bb.

I'm really interested to see where they're gonna take Alaric this season. I'm worried about him.

Man, I know that Ian and Nina have mad chemistry, but somehow it's always surprising too? I was like, Oh, i love these two so much! So glorious, every moment is just laced with tension, and someday that tension is going to blow. (I CAN'T WAIT!)

IKR? It's the damnedest thing that I'm still surprised by the amount and intensity and constancy of their chemistry. It's like I think that something that strong can't keep going indefinitely. *not true, not true, not true*

It will be truly EPIC on all kinds of levels when that tension is FINALLY released!!!! SQUEEE <3

Sorry for the late reply, I've been having some technology issues of late [in case my late night message didn't convey that clearly enough :S].

Other than having issues with the Stefan/Elena calling scene (but you read my post, you know that, LOL!), and not finding Tyler/Caroline especially hot, per usual, I pretty much agree with all of this.

ALL OF IT!!!!!!!!

After reading your post, I see your point about Stefan choosing to call Elena, when the episode had been more about the Stefan/Damon dynamic.

Also, by comparison the supernatural sex scene in The Return far surpassed Tyler/Caroline in The Birthday. Damon & Kat left me & my TV screen just scorched.

=-D I agree with everything you said, but I absolutely loved the scene where Elena called Damon an ass for asking her if the stash was good Lmfao, and I was wondering, could you give me the link to your story Care For A Sip? I added you as a friend and couldn't find the story ;P

Thanks for your comment :).

That scene at the party was very amusing. I loved how Damon willingly passed Elena his glass of the good scotch, and her calling him an ass was delightful.

Care For A Sip was written by the lovely and very talented ciara2531. Here's a link to that story:

It's one of my favorites, but then I love all of her work :D
