Higher Taxes = Good Samaritan?

Our "good" governor, Pat Quinn, went politicking this weekend at Chicago's Apostolic Church of God.He compared raising the income tax to being the Good Samaritan, which totally doesn't make any sense, but what I want to know is how he, as a politician, can go politicking in a church like that. Excuse me?! I may be a lapsed Catholic, but I do remember that the Good Samaritan helped the wounded man out of his own free will, not because the government was holding him at sword point and demanding money from him.
