Higher Taxes = Good Samaritan?

Jun 09, 2009 01:22

Our "good" governor, Pat Quinn, went politicking this weekend at Chicago's Apostolic Church of God.

He compared raising the income tax to being the Good Samaritan, which totally doesn't make any sense, but what I want to know is how he, as a politician, can go politicking in a church like that. For all the times that there are rumblings about churches losing their tax-exempt status just because of their beliefs (such as anti-abortion, against homosexual "marriage", etc.) without being overtly *political*, this sort of double-standard is absolutely ridiculous.

The more Quinn pulls this sort of stuff, the more Blagojevich sounds sane, and the more credence the conspiracy theorists have in saying Quinn is a puppet of the Madigans somehow...
