I got a call from the garage yesterday, saying the car was ready to pick up, so I now have a working car and a somewhat lighter wallet. I actually have two cars, since Hertz informed me that if I brought their car back early they would be forced to charge me their exorbitant daily rate as opposed to the weekly rate I'd been quoted, and I would owe

Aww, but I think KIAs are cute! Admittedly, not so much with all the scrapes and stuff. Not on a KIA. On my Ford they added character, I thought.

It's not really a bad car, it's just that usually when I rent a car I become enthralled by all the bells and whistles it has that my car doesn't, and that's not the case this time-- this thing is bare bones. Also, it's white, so all the scrapes make it look like somebody's old scuffed up Ked.

Ick. White is never a good color for a car. It looks like the factory forget to paint it (which is odd, because I actually prefer primer gray over white).

Sounds to me that they want you to abuse it over the weekend. E-brake burnouts and U-turns! Panic stops for no apparent reason! FWD donuts! Off road excursions! Lots of fun to be had :D
