Doing some research on Kazimierz Dejmek's 1968 production of Forefathers Eve in Warsaw, I stumbled upon this little gem: a letter of support from one of his colleagues in Czechoslovakia, written in what the book described as "polsko-czeski brzmienie".
Pańska asystentka ale mluwila tragiczne wiadomości! Niebedeli W. Pan dyrektorem Narodowego Teatru, to zrobimy u Klubu přátel polského divadla KOMITET DO OBRONY KAZIMIERZE DEJMKA i manifest będzie popisany wszystkimi wybitnymi ludziami teatru w Czechosłowacji, jak dla Manolisa Glezosa. Mysle, že nie jest možliwe, aby Polska nie wiedziala, že K. Dejmek jest najwiekszy režyser, którego w historii miala, že jest to režyser światowy a že jego robota a losy interesuju caly świat!!!
What's funny is that it's close enough to Polish that I can understand it pretty clearly. Does this happen a lot with Polish and Czech - or between other Slavic languages - where you get a kind of not-quite-one-not-quite-the-other patois?
