I was wondering if anybody could help me with an English translation of the Manx 'Jean y chooid share jeh bea as graih', any assistance is appreciated!
I think it's "Make the best of life and love", but I don't know Manx and I'm working from my knowledge of (Munster) Irish. (Word-for-word, "Déan an chuid is fearr de bheatha agus grá", but I'm not sure the idiom carries over.)
Ironically, it was those three words that caused me the most trouble because as looks identical to an Irish preposition and I wasn't sure that bea wasn't cousin to beith "being", so I thought I might be dealing with some sort of small clause.
OH MAN! I don't check the comm for a few days and while I'm gone there's a Manx question and I missed it! And other smartypantses answered it for me! DANG. I not speshulz anymore. :-(
