People. People, people, people. People on my friends list with kids. I assume you're smart enough to know this already, but just a friendly reminder. Please, please, PLEASE do NOT let your kid chew on a library DVD case, especially just before handing it to the circulation clerk ( Read more... )

OMG yeah totally.

That has happened to me before at the bookstore. Quite honestly I don't care that much if they're gumming it right before they're BUYING it, but library things can never become theirs. And that is sooo unsanitary. I used to shudder at the idea of touching the trains from the play set we had in the kids' section because I had a good idea of just how many baby tongues had touched them.

Also seems common that people don't think it's gross to stick their babies' diapered, smelly ASSES on the counter while they're checking out, or letting their three-year old grin and hand the cashier grubby money, or allowing their infant to spit all over merchandise and on themselves then rub it on the carpet. Ewww.

I guess they think that because they are desensitized, then everyone else is not grossed out by baby spit. I admit I would be more likely to be able to handle it if a baby I was holding drooled on me than like a big person's spit, because I know it is normal for babies to drool, but it still doesn't make it pleasant.
