[This takes place morning-ish on the 14th.]

This is definitely eerie
I am not sure how serious of a concern this is, but   I am at the Bazaar. All of a sudden the streets are invariably blocked with barbed wire and sandbag barricades. A platoon of soldiers(?) just marched by. I can't identify them, not close enough.

[A moment ( Read more... )

There's a lot going on down there.

This had better not be like the zombies again.

Above - your position?

Speaking of zombies, just like then it seems we are armed... in a bizarre way.

My knothole. It's a bit far to anything, but I was lower down earlier.

Yeah, there's something slung on my back. It's kind of useless to me.

If you can, make aerial report for the Watch. Clove the grocer & I are stuck here. Explosions are still going on outside.

Be careful. Do you need backup?

It is more urgent to assess and secure the area. The door here is blocked. Where are you, Gai?

I was in the Yard, but I can get anywhere I am needed.

Bazaar. Alert your fellow Watchmen in case they haven't checked the journal.

Though with all those explosions, I gather the nearby patrol wouldn't need any extra alert.

War zone? Shite. But you're all right?

[Sure, she indicated as much but... can't be too sure.]

Yes so far, but I don't know when I can leave the shop.

Where are you? What's the status there?

Damn. At least it sounds like you have supplies on hand if you're with the grocer but... Still, I'm going to see what I can do to get up to the higher levels and lend a hand. Maybe bring some arms heavier than these pop guns we've been outfitted with, if you think you'd need it.

I'm at the Scavengers' Yard. I haven't seen anything like what you describe just yet but--
[A small whole is jabbed into the page and it takes a moment before correspondence is resumed.]
Okay, strike that. I nearly walked into a bunker.

I have no intention of opening fire unless I absolutely have to. Don't even know who the people fighting are. Can try going to Krile's shop for ammo, if needed.

Lyle! [That's one shocking hole. Waiting, waiting, don't give her a heart attack.]

It wasn't there yesterday?

Yes, I see it! I'm at the Bar and no one's tried to come in, but the Bazaar is a sight and a half. Are you all right?

I don't know to be glad or not that it's not a hallucination. We are not hurt. Can you get a clear sight of them?

Hold on just a second...

[A minute or two passes, then frantic scribbling.]

Ayame says they're more of those dolls that we usually see in the Wilderness, all in army fatigues. I guess it's a relief they're not people, but it still looks really horrible. They were just marching, and now they're lying there all broken and scattered.

[Pentap.] And they're all wearing the same sort of rainbow uniform I woke up in.

[ITT assuming Ayame is one of the bar workers~]

All of them mannequins? No other casualties?

We've had few chance of wearing our own clothes the last few weeks, but adding explosives is just overkill.

We've got a lot of barbed wire all of a sudden so I think we're okay, but I'm still going out to see if there's anyone hurt.

I believe you already know this, but I'll say it anyway: make securing the firearms supplies your priority, Krile. The last thing we need is a wildfire spreading due to a loose spark.

Don't worry. We're locking everything up tight.

[it helps that they have a trapdoor but she's not saying that here.]
