[This takes place morning-ish on the 14th.]

This is definitely eerie
I am not sure how serious of a concern this is, but   I am at the Bazaar. All of a sudden the streets are invariably blocked with barbed wire and sandbag barricades. A platoon of soldiers(?) just marched by. I can't identify them, not close enough.

[A moment ( Read more... )

Yes, I see it! I'm at the Bar and no one's tried to come in, but the Bazaar is a sight and a half. Are you all right?

I don't know to be glad or not that it's not a hallucination. We are not hurt. Can you get a clear sight of them?

Hold on just a second...

[A minute or two passes, then frantic scribbling.]

Ayame says they're more of those dolls that we usually see in the Wilderness, all in army fatigues. I guess it's a relief they're not people, but it still looks really horrible. They were just marching, and now they're lying there all broken and scattered.

[Pentap.] And they're all wearing the same sort of rainbow uniform I woke up in.

[ITT assuming Ayame is one of the bar workers~]

All of them mannequins? No other casualties?

We've had few chance of wearing our own clothes the last few weeks, but adding explosives is just overkill.

[Better that way. A tiny fairy zooming through the dust, actually, but Kagerou's not so keen on advertising that.]

I see a few overturned stalls on the side. I'm not sure if there was anyone there when they went down.

Where are you now? I could try and go out and get any wounded to the Bar, there's plenty of space, but I could use some help. But only if you can get here without endangering yourself.

Clove's grocery store. No one's wounded here, but I can't get out. A pile of sandbags block the door.

Or maybe I can try the window. The noise's dying down.

That's not far! I can come to you and see if I can help open something. [With tiny attack fairy if need be.] Hold on a moment!

Same goes to you, Kagerou: don't come if it's endangering yourself.

[In the mean time, Stellaris will try to peek outside and see if it's safe.]

action log? idk? weaver_girl August 15 2011, 10:03:20 UTC
Don't worry about me! I've [tiny pause] got protection. I'll be over there in a jiffy!

sure! lingeringlegacy August 15 2011, 10:12:15 UTC
OK.

[Stellaris tries the door again-nope, still blocked. She crawls instead to the wall corner besides the broken window and slowly gets up. No reason to stand at the window and risk her head in clear sight of whatever may be outside.]

[The terrace in front of the Bar is littered with sandbags, but there's still a clear path to the street. Kagerou pushes the door open and darts towards the grocer's, sticking close to the buildings. Another group of doll soldiers, these in grey, are marching past. They pay her no mind, and so she reaches the broken window of the grocery without incident.]

Stellaris! Are you there?

[She is there alright, but the first thing greeting Kagerou instead is a gun muzzle to her head. It points at her barely a second, as Stellaris realised who it is and promptly puts the gun down. From behind the nearby counter with vegetables cluttered all over it, a curly-haired, olive-skinned, middle-aged woman in rainbow fatigues emerges, shaking and asking, "I-i-is it over yet?"]

Sorry for that, Kagerou. And it seems so, Clove, since Kagerou arrived here safely.

[Stellaris looks out the window. Across the street, a handful of people in other shops have begun picking up their scattered merchandise. She lets out a relieved sigh.]

What was that all about?

[Kagerou gasps, and there's a brief instant where a shimmering, triangular shield materialises in the air and is promptly dismissed. (Whether it would have stopped the bullet is anyone's guess.)]

Ah! Sorry, I... guess can't blame you for being a little hairtrigger. I see another platoon of those mannequins marching this way, but it looks calmer now.

[She carefully pries of a large, loose shard of glass that's still stuck to the frame. Thankfully the uniform comes with gloves.]

They're not attacking anyone? I mean, that's good, at least... apparently they're not only in this island.

[So they're not like the zombies? Perhaps that's to be expected, considering the sorry excuse of a weapon they're given. Stellaris pulled a crate towards where the window is, to make a stepping ladder.]

No, they're just... walking.

[Kagerou isn't quite sure what to make of the assault rifle strapped to her back. Or of the cheerful BANG! flag that it fires, at that.

She's just got the window clear of glass and cracked frame when there's the booming noise of another explosion in the distance, the echoes drifting in the still air.]

That didn't come from the Bazaar! Was that Wellspring? The Clinic is there!

[Stellaris has Clove climb out first, and herself right after. Her feet haven't even touched the front porch when the new round of explosion begins. When she addresss Kagerou she tries keeping her voice level.]

Simon is aware of the situation, and Gai would alert people on his way from the Scavenger's Yard. We should focus on this area before moving anywhere else.
