I know its been a while since I've posted and I've got a few minutes as I wind down before bed.  Things have been a bit hectic here but overall they've been good.  I can't complain too much ( Read more... )

I couldn't agree more with what Michelle said. Maybe after you talk to the Head Teacher, she will alleviate your concern. But if not, then GO WITH YOUR MOTHER'S INSTINCT. I think if I were Tyler, I would be a happy camper with Grandma and all of the fun routines they set up for a little while longer! :)

Thanks girls. I just was so upset. I guess it was their way of screening the kids, I don't know. I went over to see the director on Friday after work and just deferred his enrollement until September. I had to write out a letter and they put it in his file. They had no problem with me deferring and even applied my deposit to the Sept enrollment. That was very nice. I thought that we were going to lose it so that was great that they just transferred it. Overall, I do feel very comfortable there. We know people who know the owners and send their kids there. I liked it alot when we went to visit and the head teacher is really nice. I just felt that what she wanted him to be able to do at 12 months was unrealistic. Now I know that when he goes in at 20 months he'll be more independent and will be officially done with his helmet therapy too. Thanks for listening...

I agree with Michelle and Jenn. It sounds like their expectations are high. We're still transitioning Sam to the sippy cup. He just started taking 4-5 ounces consistently in the morning. He takes bottles the rest of the day. We're going to go cold turkey and all sippy cups over winter break. He wasn't feeding himself enough food at 12 months to be independent. He's more so now, but he still gets fed baby food veggies at daycare because we can't get him to take real veggies yet. I think keeping Ty with Grandma is a better option anyway! THere's no love like a Grandma's love!

That's great that they deferred your enrollment and put your deposit towards the September enrollment. That's a sign of a good place - they're about the kids, not in it for the money.
