Glad to hear you liked TheHotel. It looks pretty stylish online, and I just love staying in different hotels, so hopefully it will be a good time!

Whew! That work project doesn't sound like fun at all. I can only take Excel in very limited doses ( ... )

I LOVE Trader Joe's and do as much of our grocery shopping there as I can. First, they have a ton of cereals tha I adore-steel cut oats, my fiber/flax cereal, Mother's Brand cereals, etc. Probably my favorite TJ item is pita chips, though I have been known to eat a whole bag in one sitting-highly addictive. I also love their pre-packaged salads and frozen fish. And the wines-you can see how I can get in trouble there! The nice thing is that TJ's prices are generally lower than the regular grocery store, at least for things like milk, butter, cottage cheese, etc., and a lot of their foods don't have preservatives, which I really like. It's kind of like a healthy grocery store and specialty market all rolled into one.

That party sounds like fun! I made a really easy and tasty appetizer this week that you could make. Just take toothpicks and put a cherry tomato, piece of basil and small fresh mozzarella ball on each. Lay them on a platter and drizzle them with olive oil and balsamic. It looks really pretty and is very tasty!

I'm so jealous of your upcoming trip! I would love to go lie in the sun somewhere. Your gift for Steve sounds great!

Have a fun weekend!

The appetizer sounds wonderful. I am off to the store, so I'll buy those ingredients. Yum!

Sounds like a fun dinner! Very cool anniversary gift. I did paper too...got DH a few cook books (including an ice cream one - he just got a new ice cream maker) and a very old vintage map of Maine (his home state).

Ooh, I love the vintage map idea. Maybe for another gift for Steve. He'd love a map of Minnesota!!! And the cookbooks are very cool, too. :)

The progressive dinner sounds like a lot of fun. How'd it turn out?

I didn't realize this is your 1st anniversary! For some reason, I thought you were coming up on your 2nd (yes, I used to lurk in your NW journal ;) ). I think the gift sounds wonderful, and I'm sure he'll appreciate it!

Let the countdown to your vacation begin!
