Eeee!! Pretty. ^^ Yeah, I agree with the its supposed to be James Norrington, not JackDav. Definitely.

*pauses*

Can I just say I'm dying over that calligraphy that is his name? *wibbles* (Assuming it IS caaligraphy...)

Thank you! :)
It would seem that somehow the character definitely has taken on a life of his own in my brain... Not that I mind. ;)

And since "calligraphy" basically means 'beautiful writing', I'm really glad to hear you like it.

Eheh! Oh yes, its always a good thing. Unless you have Jack Sparrow taking over your subconscious... then its just chaotic...

^^ Tis pretty. My weird typo above not withstanding. xP

That's stunningly beautiful for more than one reason. Including the fact that the man in the portrait is not Mr Davenport. But, definitely, he *is* Lt Norrington, exactly as I remember him in the first sequences of CoTBP. And I think that, in capturing the essence of a fictional character rather than just drawing the features of the man playing it, you proved what a true artist's talent is. Exactly as Mr Davenport, in his interpretation, showed that acting is something different from just being yourself wearing a costume. :)

Wheee! Thank you for that lovely comment! :)
Looks like most people agree with me on there being little resemblance to Mr. Davenport left in this, so I must assume that Mr. Norrington has taken on a life of his own in my brain... And for some reason, that doesn't worry me as much as it probably should. ;)

Not going to repeat my "yippieh!" comment, but none of your artwork ever resemble actors, they resemble characters. This is not Real People Artwork. But it's stunning artwork, and I love it. :)

*mwuah* Thank you! :)
Really happy to hear that people agree I didn't just do that bodysnatcher thing on Mr. Davenport. *g*
Mr. Norrington wreaks enough havoc on my brain as it is - imagine what it would be like if every incarnation of Mr. Davenport's characters did the same! ó_Ò

Beautiful. I love how you capture not only the style of the time, but the overall mood the pictures seemed to have.

Thanks! :) I think in that case the result is more 'lucky coincidence' than real intention... but I'm really happy with the result after all. *g*

You should be - it's fabulous.

Quick question - you know that beautiful art you did for book 2 of my novel? Do you mind if Mr. Rat puts one or two pieces in his on line magazine to promote the release?

Oh, I don't mind if he puts some of the art in his zine - a link to my website would be nice, though. And you might want to check that it's not an image that's big enough for people to print. Or crop it and just show a detail, like Chris did for "Samuel Blackwood"... that way, people might be tempted by those teasers to maybe buy the book to see the complete artwork.
Ultimately the decision is yours.

Can't wait for Laura to tell me that my copy of the book is on the way!
