Oh, no!

I've now read one of the books the editor recommended to get a hint of what she wanted me to do with the dialog. And besides the fact that I cried the entire last hour of the book (it's about a girl and her dying mother, very tear-jerking) I despaired. The dialog consists of repetitions, bad words, fillers (ju, va, liksom, du fattar, eller, men .. ( Read more... )

Is there a "high-quality" author who also doesn't use tag lines? If so, let them know that you've been influenced by his/her style? Might help them get onto your side, if they're so fussed about tag lines.

I try to remember if I've read any of late. Hard to tell in retrospect, I think about that when I read, not when I have put the book down and left it for a while.

And I'm not sure what they want yet, so I shouldn't get all worked up. It's just hard not to...

What books did the editor recommend?

I don't miss tag lines. It can't be the tag lines she's referring to. And no fillers please, it would make it tiresome to read. :/

Or... You could do anything to please them and see if they wan't to publish it. Then when you're a big famous writer you could always release an 'authors cut' ;)
