Facebook is bad for my blood pressure.

Why do I do this? Why do I engage in debate with people on facebook when I know it's not going to lead to anything good? Honest to God, someone should just come along, take me by the hand, and lead me out of the room before I hit the reply button, because otherwise, I end up going through keyboards by mashing my face against them in an incoherent ( Read more... )

When someone brings up "oh but women also..." I see red, which is sort of funny given the topic I will admit. Way to totally redirect the topic of discussion. Chris Brown assaulted someone that he was intimately involved with. And whilst I don't believe someone should be publicly flayed for something just because they are in the media, they also shouldn't get a pass because they are famous.

Because someone is famous, they shouldn't get a pass, and they shouldn't be persecuted. I agree. And sometimes it's the latter, but more often, it's the former.

Plus, yes, like you said. Redirect. That's not on topic, because, well, because it's not. Try again, and try talking about what we're actually talking about. Because, please.

Repeat after me: "I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed opponent."

Say it enough times and it might just keep you out of trouble.

And ::waves hands:: yes, I agree with you on everything above and that's as coherent as I can be now.

Oh. Oh, I like your phrase so very much. Hello applicable. To so, so many things.

This was not the post I was supposed to make today. I had actual fannish things to talk about. But I got sidetracked because WTF. *blames facebook*

I haven't been party to the details on the Chris Brown vs. Rihanna saga, but some variations I have heard suggest she hit him first. I don't know if this is true, tbh I don't care if it's true. Domestic violence of ANY kind is wrong, but I did not hear of police pressing charges on her? Chris Brown was charged, and alearly did way more damage. (funnily enough, my iPad autocorrect keeps trying to make his name Christ) That the Grammys are implying they were somehow victims of that ordeal is so, so wrong. And I think 2 years of shunning is not enough. He was sentenced to 5 years probation, right? So why not exclude him from awards shows as long as he is on probation ( ... )
